i think being a teacher is one of the most rewarding professions.. but you should think about what you want to get out of the experience, way the pros and cons and evaluate what you want the most..

I would say "teaching" is a challenge more so than "hard work". Hard work involves manual labour. If you are not finding teaching to be rewarding you might want to investigate different vocations.

I think what you need to know about is do you like this job. I don't mean to be mean as I think there is no job that you don't have to work hard for it and the thing is that how you look at it. If you enjoy what you do and are happy about it then you won't think about it and you won't feel that its hard work.

I am not a teacher but i know how you must feel. To correct assignments, prepare exams, and courses are not easy tasks. I know i can't stand in front of 30-100 students...I'll just get stressed out. I think you should think about it. Like are you teacher in high school? Is it the teenagers who don't listen and you are tired of teaching dicipline than the main course? Then you could try out teaching in college or university. The students are more mature. If you are just tired of being a teacher, you should continue the next step and try something else. If you are teaching math, you could become a mathematicien working for an insurance company for example. You have to think about it carefully...because it is something you are going to do for the rest of your life and if your heart isn't there, then you might have to change.
