Certain Songs and Certain Films

Do you have certain songs that always remind you of a certain film? There are some songs that I listen to now and can't separate in my mind from movies and moments in cinema.
For example, one of the most famous ones is "Stuck in the Middle With You" always making me think of Reservoir Dogs and the ear cutting off scene!
I also always think of the boys in The Sandlot getting sick on a ride when I hear the song "Tequila". Not the nicest association!
Any others you can think of?

I certainly do. My favorite was the one from 'Con Air', the song sung by Trisha Yearwood entitled 'How Do I Live'...I don't know, there is just something in that scene that just made an impression on me and really pulled at my heartstrings. A lot of songs remind me of certail movies like Walk Like A Man, Leaving On a Jet Plane & I Say A Litte Pray for You, just to mention a few.

Good examples. I think I think of Con Air when I hear that Trisha Yearwood song too.

Well I wouldn't have thought about it until I read your post, but yes there is, that Whitney Houston song 'I will always love you' reminds me of the 'Bodyguard' obviously, but it always brings back good memories of going to see the film at the cinema and who I was with.. good discussion thanks you've brought back a flood of memories!

Bridge over the river Kwai (my spelling may be off) and that whistling army tune that we always sung as kids as "Comet, it makes your mouth turn green, comet, it tastes like listerine, comet - it makes you vomit, so drink comet and vomit today"
Gone with the Wind has a real memorable theme
The Twighlight Zone
There is a Western with John Wayne and Ricky Nelson and Dean Martin - and I think Walter Brimely
and I love the song they sing.... My pony my rifle and me....
Liberty Valance
Hello Dolly
anything from Sound of Music
it is really an endless occupation to list them all!

You really just made me laugh with the comet song! I remember it! I haven't heard that in at about 15 years!

Ah-ha! I'm afraid I'll have to make that a little less amazing. I cheated by learning it when I lived in Virginia for five years when I was a kid.
I like to think I've spread the culture though. My school friends on this side of the Atlantic were fascinated to learn the "Little Green Gopher" song.

Though my father was in the Air Force, when we lived in Panama we spent some time living at the Army post, and when we moved to the AF Base it was still real close to the Army post - so we could hear their morning PT and accompanying songs... of course they did the left right left right with various inserted jingles, but also this tune that we sang the comet song to.
I am wondering if the O.P. lived near an army post?
