Out of the Loop

I am not talking about the adult Loop and being swarmed by baby poop. I am talking about the mommy club. I was on another site where there were tons of books about pondering life as a mom. I don't feel I relate anymore. I do have children and anyone who knows me, knows that they are my world. I have spent 11 years at home with children full time. But they are all in school now and though I have experienced the same frustrations and celebrations of parenting like other moms, I just don't feel I fit in anymore. I am no longer up to date on the latest stroller recalls or the next best sippy cup. No more mom and tot groups or afternoon play dates. I am no longer wishing for the day I can pee in peace, it is now here. It is obvious I haven't cut my cord or dismantled my nest. I need a job.

Have you felt like you are out of the loop?

Very good topic. This probally wont help you but just the opposite. I'm a new mother. and I'm 22. Its a big adjustment for me not getting up and going when I want to , the sleep deprivation and like you said the peeing in peace. I mean it only takes a few seconds right haha. I've dont a lot of reading to help me.
If I were you I would do some reading find some other moms that are in your current situations and work for some extra money. And then treat yourself!

As you can see with the lack of response it is super hard to find moms in this situation. I do understand this though. When you have children at home full time and are young you need so much support and it is wonderful to find many women who want to share their experiences. Thanks for sharing and enjoying being a mom too!

babycenter.com is a sight that has bulletins I'm member also but It isnt just for babies. it follows the growth and support to teens. i think you would like it . You'd be able to find moms like yourself.

I say enjoy it, you have done your time with all that stuff and now is your time to rest and enjoy the next stage with your kids

Well my children are only 4 and 2 and we are planning another baby soon so being out of the loop wont happen for a while but to be honest im not sure im in it anyway. I couldnt tell you what the best cup is or buggy for that matter I buy what I think will suit my childs needs the best lol I dont do baby groups etc so never been in the loop for them.
I do think about the time though when I will pee in peace or eat in peace and the thought is a scary one that is true I plan to go back to college though when they are in full time school and then work when they are a lot older and dont need me so much im looking forward to that but it wont be for a while and im making the most of these "baby" years while they last!
