Do you reply to your own topics?

If no one has repied to your topic, do you reply yourself to get people to look at it? Does it kind of upset you if you think you have a good topic and no one replies?

I haven't had that problem yet. Maybe I'm fascinating?
I think you should just try to make sure you're not posting something that's been done 100 times (how old are you? what's your favorite color? which email do you use?) and be sure to make your opinion something people feel is worth responding to.
Now, I do try to respond when people respond to my topics. I don't do it just to get it on the front page for a second. Eventually someone will see it.

It does get old seeing the same old topics...and I am glad they updated the guidelines down at the bottom right of the screen for people to check out and maybe they really will monitor more now...I am sure most people will ignore the guidelines though for quite a while...
As for original topics...be cool if people would check out my profile and go through my list of topics I started...I have MANY with 0 responses and you won't find most of mine posted by anyone else..ha ha

I personally have some discussions I have no Replies for yet, so I can relate with this, and Yes, it is a little disheartning when it happens. But Yes, I do reply to anyone who answers my posts to hhelp keep my discussions going, and usually will check out some of their Discussions they have started just to see what I think. It is nice to meet so many wonderful people in here and online.

I have one or two that don't have any responses either. I don't get to be on here that much, but I try to post on a few things when I am. I have never posted on my n topic, I might if someone else posted something to my topic.

it is disappointing when people just want to post anything just to make money they don't seem to want to get involved in meaningful topics.... :(

I also don't quite understand it. There are loads of good topics that people just don't respond to. But what I am begining to think is that MyLot is becoming bigger all the time (almost 30 000 now). So if you have let say, 500 new posts per second you post will be so far down the line so quick, not very many people will notice it at first. That is probably why it is important to tag your discussions well. I recon in the future most people on myLot will be doing searches for discussions rather than looking at the first page all the time.

I have a couple of discussions that haven't gotten a response yet. I don't think you can reply to your own decision unless you have atleast one response.

I'm confused here. It's not possible to reply to your own topic if there has been no other replies. If it was possible, then I would have done it. I have asked a couple of questions that I thought were really good in the past that never got a response. I think mostly it was just a timing issue.

If NO ONE has replied to your topic..as in zero replies...it does not allow you to reply to your own topic...only to other people's replies...so no one can answer this with a yes because it is not an available option.

It isn't any fun, but I tend to know that my friends on here will get around to searching through my profile and commenting, as I do for them. That always cheers me up :)
Another good tactic is to wait until you have a response or two, then respond back. Each time you do that, it bumps your discussion to the front page. Otherwise, it was only ever on the front page for probably a few seconds... 15 at most... and if no one who was on myLot AND on the front page reloaded right then and picked yours out of the others, well... then you have to rely on people bothering to search.
If you respond, each time it'll bump it. Then you get more responses, which you can later comment to bump better. Plus, it's a great way to make friends and drum up more discussion :)

So far i have not replied to my own posting... I have started a few discussions about peace and poverty and not even one reply. The only thing people respond to is how much money or how to make money. No one seems to want to talk about certain important issues facing our daily lives.
