It all started Monday at work. I wasnt feeling to well. I had a headach for a few days that I couldnt shake. Then my ears were hurting. Then my throat started hurting. I got home from work monday at 4 pm and went to sleep. Over the next few hours I went from ok to worse to even worse. I was running a fever, I was so cold, My throat felt like it was on fire, I was sweating like crazy. I had my husband go get me some medicine. I figured I just had a cold or the flu.
Well tuesday morning I was supposed to go to work. I got up and tried to get dressed which took like 30 minutes. I had a hard time with it. I was very weak. I did get dressed and went to work and asked the manager if I could go home. I felt it was better to show up then to call in sick. She said no problem I could go home. I went home and went back to bed.
Finally last night around 6 pm I decided to go to the hospital. I had slept for a good 24 hours, havent eaten in two days, taken meds, and I still felt like A$$. My throat is now really swollen and I can barly swallow. I went and they told me I have Strep Throat. One of the worst cases they have seen in a while. My tonsils are all swollen up and have puss on them. They said they shouldnt have to take them out unless the antiobiotics dont clear this up. Lets hope the antiobiotics work.
Its now Wed afternoon and I am in a daze. My brain dosent want to do much. I am very tired and my throat is still hurting and swollen. I tried to eat some soup but that took forever since my throat is so bad.
Just thought Id let you know how I was doing since I havent been on in a few days. Dont worry about me though I will get better...I HOPE. I have never been this sick before and down for so long. Its not like me to sleep for days and not get out of bed. Have a great day all Im going to go back to bed as soon as I post this. Im not feeling well and im tired again. I shouldnt be since Ive already slept for 2 days.
Have you ever been this sick before? What was it from? Did you feel like you were never going to get better?

Wow...I hope you feel better soon! I don't think I've ever been sick. I had strep throat once, I think I was like 7 or 8. I remember it felt like I was swallowing wood chips whenever I had the nerve to swallow. It's torturing. Don't worry, you'll get better, it just takes time...Get Well Soon!

Yikes! I sincerely hope you feel better very soon!
The worst I've ever felt was before I went in the hospital nearly 3 years ago. On Monday I went to work but when I pulled into the lot I had an episode of chills - now mind you during these episodes I'd shake so bad I could barely speak. I called into the office (I couldn't walk due to the shaking, plus I didn't dare move out of the heat) and a co-worker came out to check on me. I had to blast the heat and finally fell asleep for about 1/2 an hour. When I awoke I called in again and told them I was going home. They wanted to follow me (cuz it's a good hour to get there) but I promised to call when I got home.
The next day I felt so drained I couldn't walk more then 20 feet before having to lay down and rest. Finally on Wednesday after another bad episode of chills, my husband got worried to the extent where he called my stepmom to drive me to the doctor. They immediately admitted me into the hospital where I spent the next 2 weeks recovering from an E.Coli infection. They found the infection in a cyst in my kidney. The infection had gotten into my bloodstream, making me septic - which is why I felt so tired and why I had the bad episodes of chills.
One good thing that came out of all that - I was diagnosed early with the PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease). Most people don't find out they have it until their early 40's when they start having pain from the cysts. With my early diagnosis I have a better chance at increasing the lifespan of my kidneys.

Thank you. WOW...What a scary situation you had. E-coli poisoning can be a bad bad thing! Im glad they were able to catch the PKD early and that your kidneys wont suffer any more than they have to. I have kidney problems every now and again but its just stones that want to stay there. I guess there nice and cozy. LOL!

I hope you feel better soon! Take care and get well soon!
The last time I felt bad, the doctor sent me straight to the Emergency Room. I stayed for two days and was sent home. Turned out wasn't serious, and I just needed new medication and a change in diet :)

Strep throat is the worst. I had it when I was pregnant withy my first child and I felt awful. I hope you get feeling better soon and the meds work. I hope the antibioics work so you don't have to have your tonsils taken out. My son had his taken out when he was 4 years old so he will never get tonsilities at least.
Get well soon and feel better.

Thank you. Its bad enough having it and not being pregnant. I bet you felt like crap being pregnant and all. The docs around here try not to take your tonsiles out unless they absolutly need to be. Well ever time I get a sore throat, a cold, or the flu mine swell up really big. I really think they need to be taken out but they wont take them.
