Does having a failed remark indicative that a student is stupid?

No. Having a failling grade doesn't mean stupid student. When I was in college, I had 1 or 2 failling grades during my study there. There is alot to learn and focus. I think it's hard to be good in everything. Nobody's perfect. It happens to alot of student so you just redo the course...it's not the end of the world here. But if your failling grades are repetetive, you aren't stupid but it means that you are best at something else. In other words, you aren't made for this.

absolutely not! failing a subject doesnt mean that you are stupid. it just means that you havent done much in that subject and you failed the required grade they need for you to pass the subject. failing a subject is caused by a lot of things. being distracted, not doing homeworks, not participating in class, not doing good in exams, being absent in that class and etc. which leads to not studying. i dont judge you or anything like that because i too have gotten a few failing grades. all we have to do is excert more and more and more effort in doing our work so that we dont have to repeat the subject again. and i too have had my share of repeated subjects. trust me its no fun!

I don't think a failing grade equates to stupidity... i was a teacher for like 8 years... and i witnessed a lot of students fail a subject because of various reasons... and they are not even close to dumb or stupid... Students fail... because... 1. Lack of discipline... 2. Peoccupation to other things.. 3. Family problem... 4. lack of inspiration... There are more reasons why students fail... but from experience... these are the most common...

No, it doesn't mean that you are stupid if you have a failing grade. There are lots of reason why student gets failing mark or grades but it doesn't meant that they are stupid. Cheers!

Oh heck no! Failing grades can be attributed to any number of things. Stress, nervousness, unable to concentrate, the list goes on and on. I have received many failing grades, but I do not consider myself stupid. And I don't think any of my teachers would either. I just have severe ADD and anxiety disorder, so lectures and exams just kill me. Doesn't mean I am stupid though. My older brother failed out of school and he has a genius IQ. Go figure.
