Mirror, mirror on the wall

My son is constantly looking in the mirror. He's a really good looking child, but he knows it. I've had to say something to him several times regarding his vanity, but I too used to be a mirror queen when I was younger. Now I find myself looking in the mirror quite a bit, but I look, not because I think I look that great anymore, but rather because I am my biggest critic. I look to see if perhaps I may have dropped some weight, to consider the fine lines that seem to be more predominant and naturally to check my clothing. Do you spend much time in the mirror? What are you looking for if you do?

I don't say anything wrong with looking in the mirror and appreciating your own unique beauty, there is an expression, god didn't make ugly.
Now I look in the mirror and I see how much I have aged. That is a bit hard to take but such is life as they say.

yeh, I spend quite a lot of time in front of the mirror too... (only when I'm going out) It doesn't mean that you are vain..(well not always) I would say it just shows that you like to appear nice.. to be well dressed and attractive.. It means that you have a good taste in fashion and you don't like to look scruffy...

Only when I am going out of the house. My hair is the one thing that I do spend a lot of time on in front of the mirror. I don't wear makeup so have no issues there. It's just this darn fuzzy - straightened hair that doesn't seem to sit where I want it to sit, and then its the grey hairs on top which I try to hide underneath too lol I think it's time for a dye.

I look in the mirror only to see if my hair is somewhat in place before I head out to town. That is about it.
my youngest at 6 is my vain one. She loves to look at her reflection and pose and make cutesy faces at herself. Though she is rather prissy, she is also very tender hearted towards others. my other daughter could care less about her appearance and what others think about what she is wearing or how her hair is combed.

I spend as little time in front of the mirror as possible...lol. I look to do make up, but since I have been losing weight (23 pounds since September! woohoo!) and I am within 10 pounds of where I want to be, I mostly am looking to keep an eye on what I look like, so I can tell if I am doing ok still or if I need to stop or maybe still lose a little more.

My older daughter used to hear all the time what beautiful eyes she had. One day when she was 3 or 4 I caught her looking in the mirror saying, "I have pretty eyes." I thought that was pretty funny. But now, none of my kids are really into looking at themselves in the mirror. If anything, I have to get on them about their appearance a bit. And I don't spend much time in front of the mirror either.

Wow! Your son knows that he a very handsome kid! Well, I don't really look much in the mirror. I just usually look on the mirror to check on how I look before going outside then on the restrooms etc but not really bringing mirror with me.. how ungirly of me! hehe.

I am probably guilty of not looking in the mirror as much as I should, many times I have gone out and my hair is a mess lol or my mum tells me I have toothpaste around my mouth LOL! The only time I look in the mirror is when I am shaving. I am not a vain person and I don't really like looking in the mirror, I guess I put that down to low self esteem, I used to when I was much younger going out on a date etc, but now I don't really care because I ain't looking for anyone. I am not scruffy about my dress but I am certainly not a mirror queen LOL!

These days I don't spend too much time in front of the mirror, at my age I guess it just doesn't matter that much to me now. I will glance in the mirror before I go out, just to make sure my hair doesn't look like a birds nest and that my clothes don't look too bad.

I do not spend a lot of time looking in the mirror but I do check to see if my hair looks good or I look the way I feel after a sleepless night. I guess I do check a coupleof times a day andI too am my own greatest critic.I still get a charge out of what this woman doctor said to me when I was in the hospital with bleeding diverticulitis. Ihad had a really bad day as they had not been able to stop the bleeding yet and it had been four solid days of it. she came in to talk to me about the tests she had ordered and she remarked, are you really eighty. you do not lookit at all. I said, thanks for the compliment but I sure feel it today. she had to laugh at that. I had began to feellike a pin cushion from all the needlesand blood tests and IV's and blood transfusions.

I look into the mirror for a few purposes. First it is combing the hair. Shaving is next.I do some pep talk to myself.I check to see if my tailor had stitched the clothes well. And lastly and the most important is 'checking my stomach', if its going a great bulge or flat.

i dont spend much time looking in the mirror...
to be honest i dont really care what i look like, i dont really get it why ppl spend so much time on their looks. Most ppl around me do to the point where i think it becomes somewhat ridiculous. My 2 cousins that live near me sleepover at each others houses and spend that time doing up their hair. My closes guess to why they do this is maybe because they are finding their identity? trying to be a non-conformist? or just find a style they like out of experimenting?
