I have been a care giver to a friend for over two years and now i fear that i have not taken care of my own health and am having problems with my health..How do I tell a friend that I LIVE WITH that I have to either leave so that I can care for myself, or they have to respect the boundaries that i set so that i can take the time I need to care for my own health without feeling obligated to fix his problems too..

in this situation...you mustn't take all the responsibilities to care your friend ...you know each of us has our own obligation to take good care of ourself ..so why worries ..anyway you had given already your best to her/him...to take care his/her health condition...doesn't it??? so just chill out...try to express the truth that no one can take good care our life but we alone...

Explain to him that taking care of him has taken a toll on your own health and that you feel its time for him to call in for help with a care giver / home help service.
