Do you REALLY look at yourself? What do you see?

I have been trying to
see myself from the eyes of a stranger.
REALLY look at myself.
I smile at myself and am trying to be
a really happy person.
I want to like what I see!
This lady didn't!
quote
"Visiting the modern art museum, a lady
turned to an attendant standing nearby.
"This," she said, "I suppose, is one
of those hideous representations you
call modern art?"
"No, Madam," replied the attendant.
"That's called a mirror."

I have tried to do things like that myself. I am lost on weho Ireally am. I am still trying to figure that out. I'm not sure what other people see when they look at me. Evidently it isn't good because I have no friends because they all use me up.

keep looking and repeat to yourself in the mirror everyday that you are the most beautiful person in the world from the inside on out, and you will eventually believe it.

Its good that that you like what you see.I also try to see and judge myself from others point of view.I generally try to make sure that the other person talking to me is happy while talking to me.I have an habbit of judging people and then interacting with them.

we are all created in the image and likeness of God... but there are other people who don't see themselves like others do. like they're too thin, fat, etcetera. it's just so sad that they have to deal with those kinds of issues

Oh, how funny. I do agree that I try to look pretty, but more important happy. I do not want to be that lady in the mirror.

Hi raydene! Oh goodness, I never want to be in that lady's shoes! I truly want to see a reflection of a woman who is happy and at peace with life. I don't want other people to see that I am a hideous representation of bitterness and discontentment. When I look at the mirror, I want to see a woman who is happy, radiant and at peace staring back at me. Thank you for sharing that. Now I have to rush to the mirror and practice my smile! Just my thoughts dear friend! Take care and have a great time!

ok now i get what you are saying but in all truthfulness its a little hard to see yourself the way others see you ,though you may get critical sometimes of yourself but you can never see yourself as much as they see you because some just want to see your faults

Thats so funny but unfortunately true to how some people do see themselves. I for one when I do look into the mirror see God's created beauty and my own inner beauty within, I also see a woman who has a few lines but ones of character that shows she has laughed a lot, cried a lot and on the whole is an ok girl. Thanks for sharing. Ellie:D

I guess that would depend on what part of yourself you're looking for in that mirror.
There is so much a mirror can show...
For instance, I see an old lady when I look in the mirror. Her face looks like she knows pain, and forgot how to smile.
Looking deeper, I believe contentment can be seen. And strength. And acceptance of self.

Yeah....coz i think that what we see is a reflexion of what we are...doing...and express to ourself in the eyes of other people...

when i catch myself moving past the full length mirror in the hall i am surprised, my physical image does not match how i feel inside about myself. i guess i have been feeling a little lost lately...:(

it is hard to manipulate the mind. However writing affrimations and reading it a few times a day does help. it will not happen over night and it will not take a week. But the more you work on it and keep saying outloud to yourself, that you are beautiful and that you are worth more than what anyone thinks then your brain will haer that and you will begin to feel better about yourself
