If you found a bag, with a banks name and a lot of money in it, what would you do....would you keep it or return it?

I would like to think that I would return the money jer31558. That said, I think we may all say one thing but if it really happened are we really sure what we would do? I would hope that I would return it, but I would never judge someone who kept it either.

Just once if you figure out the best way to start it...you gotta always make it come out in your favor!

I may be desperate, but I'm no fool. If the bag had a bank's name on it it could be the property of the bank. All banks face strict regulations about tracking the serial numbers of the cash that belongs to them. So it is possible that the money could be traced. I wouldn't even return it. I would just wipe off my fingerprints from touching it and walk away.

I guess you have a more active conscience than I do. I just don't like to meddle in business that doesn't concern me.

I agree in that I would'nt keep it or spend it, but I disagree in that I would have to return it to the bank, even if I knew there would be no reward.

Well my Daddy raised me to be honest and do the right thing. So I wouldn't want to be the crazy kid that went against him and how he raised me. I know better. Definately I would give it back. Above disappointing Daddy my Lord and Saviour is watching and I know what to do.

Sure, I will return it to the bank or to the police. It is the only logical thing to do, really. I am half sure that the serial numbers of the notes can be traced and you wouldn't want to get thrown into the jail for "unluckily" passing by a sack of cash.

I have seen on some police shows that they put some kind of ink pack in some of those sacks as well or is that when someone robs a bank...I am not sure but either way, I'd give it back.

I saw a show on tv a few weeks back where they did this exact thing using an armored truck, making sure people saw the truck it came from. Most of them did return it and one guy even chased the armored car down in his own car. For some reason the ones that did'nt return it refused to be interviewed....I wonder why? lol

I would return it and hope that they gave me some kind of reward otherwise you would be no better than someone who goes in and robs a bank either way it is still stealing and you could get in troulbe with the law.

Yes I would returni t as it belongs to some bank and is not mine.besides the money is probably marked so you could get yourself in serious trouble if you kept it and tried to spend it. Legally and morally to keep it would be wrong, very wrong. I do not deny that I would be tempted but I would not keep it in spite of the temptation.

The temptation would be great but I would'nt be able to sleep if I kept it.

I'd be tempted to keep it, although the bank would give you a reward. So if you found (I'll say it in dollars even though I'm English) $2 million the bank would give you 10% of that. There was a record bank raid where I live in England recently. They recovered most of the money, and arrested all the people that did it. But, they kept finding large amounts of money in different places - for example £3 million in a van in a car park. I often go for a country, and fanatasise about finding some hidden money in a bag; after this bank raid, I thought it was a possibilty! Unfortunately, I have not found any yet, so will have to try and make my fortune on Mylot.

If I found a bag of money with a banks name on it I would return it because it is more than likely stolen money and you would get caught and then they would think you stole it to begin with and you could end up in jail. I myself would never be willing to risk it.

I will return it. If you are going to keep it, people will be wondering why suddenly you got a lot of money. They would wonder where you get it and they will suspect you of doing something bad. Oh well, you can only get a large amount of money if you did something against the law not unless you win in a lottery or something. I believe in the saying"When there is smoke, there is fire". No matter how hard you try to hide it, it will be made known and even you would wonder how. You will be surprised.

I believe it is better to be honest than to be rich, though there have been times in my life when I would have been very tempted.

when i was 15yrs old i went into a beauty shop with my granny while she was getting her hair done i was looking at mags. in one of them i found a 20.00 dollar bill.wow, i thought what a lot of money ( this was 33yrs. ago) I could not wait to get to the store to buy something . When my granny came over to sit under the dryer i said Look what i found in a magazine i was looking at. Her answer was- in magazine that belongs to sombody else located in her business. But granny i answered, she probably dose'ent even know its here. This was her answer "Berry, she may not relize what she has lost but you will know what you stole. But its your choice to keep it or give it back. Of course i gave the money back- it truned out that an elderly lady on afixed income had came in the day before and when she was ready to pay she couldnt find the 20.00 bill (the beautitian did her hair for 5.00 and she always paid for a mo. at a time and because she had lost the money she had canceled that mo. appointments). When we left the shop my granny said she was proud of me, that because of my doing the right that the lady would be able to enjoy what was probably the only ME time that she got each week. So although the bank might not relize i stole thier money I would never want to disappoint my granny by being a theif. Also that money could belong to a small business that uses that bank and losing it could be devastating to their lively hood and any employees the have.So my conscience -taught to me by example from my two Grandmothers and my Rev.Grandfather would NEVER let me get5 away with being a theif, even if the law did!

If I found that bag boy would I be happy. :) OK so if it had a bank on it I would like to say that I would return it for maybe a small fee. But if it didnt have any thing to guarantee who it went to. I think it might end up in a wallet with my name on it.
