I make myself laugh. You can tell by my posts that I have gone back to work as my posts recently seem to revolve around it. Anyway, where I work is near the cosmetic counters and usually I stop and use the lotions or perfumes. I have had so many compliments on one of the lotions I have been using that I'm thinking about treating myself to it. Its a bit costly, but hey, aren't I worth it? When is the last time you spent a little more money on an item to treat yourself and what was it?

hello kbourgerie,it's good to pamper yourself once in a while. For me,it's hard being a professional student as I hardly have enough for myself. But sometimes I splurge just to get the motivation. This month,I'm scheduling a hair appointment for new highlights.

Thats what I've been wanting to do. I made an appointment last week, but turned around and cancelled it after they told me it was going to cost me $214. Way too much for my pocketbook.

the last time I treated myself to anything must have been 100 years ago. I never buy anything for myself it is always for the house, or my son, and that is not often because I don't have any money since I am disabled and not working anymore.

I was thinking when I read the title about you telling of this joke, but then you start talking about treating yourself. I have not done that for some time. For one thing, I am allergic to many perfumes and I have to be careful of lotions and stuff. In fact, I have to avoid the cosmetic counters because even the ones where they sell hypoallergnic kinds are too close to the regular cosmetic counters.
I do plan to get a dvd of my favorite show that I have been putting off for some time and if I have enough money, I will get one for another show.

This is a bit different, I think. I was forever buying things for my grand children or often my grown children, too. Just before Christmas last year I splurged and bought myself a juke box!! I have wanted one for a long time and it is not exactly what I had in mind, but it is a juke box, but it isn't at my place yet!! I haven't made the arrangements to get it to my place since I was depending on my son to do it for me, and should have known better. I will be doing that in the next week since I am ready to have it with me since I bought it months ago and it still sitting at the bowling alley and they want it out of there!

I never pay more for anything, than the item is worth Every day I treat myself to a really good cup of coffee, usually a mocha latte, at The Second Cup. They run around $5 a cup (a little less, and I put my change into my coffee fund, for the next time I want a cup), but they are GOOD and I don't mind paying for them. Besides, the guy who makes them is kinda cute! ;-)

Laughter is so good for all of us, kbourgerie, and I try to do it as often as possible. It's so nice that you are happy to be back at work because not everyone is satisfied in their job. I have had to spend a bit more on skin products for quite some time now due to my eczema. One of the last products I tried came to me in a mail order catalog. I ordered them for my skin and the money was well spent. I must look them up since I stopped receiving their catalog.

In response to your question , I actually treated myself to a nice cream perfume today. This morning as I was getting ready to go out,I said to myself tht all I needed now was a nice smelling oil or perfume. A girlfriend took me out today to go window shopping and we walked into a nice store with clothes from Tibet and India, foreign jewelery and these wonderful cream perfumes , made with natural herbs, resins etc.. The one I loved was called Tibetan Queen, I really needed to give myself a gift today , and I did.. It feels so good.

Oh my it has been quite a while probably three years and that is a shame. I should be more good to myself than that. I bought a bottle of really good perfume called
shalimar by Guerlain and I just loved the scent so much. It was a bit more than I usually pay for perfumes but I liked the scent so much. also it was one of the few perfumes that my son is not allergic to which is a plus too. but then I havent really treated myself to something like that for much too long. This discussion made me stop and think.

I found a facial treatment online, all natural, and splurged on it! Great results too. I'm all out and about to go looking to pick up another supply!

I just ordered some perfume from Avon that was a bit pricey. Well, $15.00 is a bit pricey for me. It is called 'Petals' and it smell absolutely wonderful. It is flowery, but not on the heavy side. I rarely spend money on myself. I wait for stuff like that to get as gifts. But, I fell in love with this fragrance.

Hi Kbourgerie, You know what? Lotions and perfumes are my most common splurge. What's funny is how many of them (the lotions, not the perfumes) end up lying fallow in a basket, congealing through the years. Before I buy them, I've circled them, stroked them, fantasized over them and finally, pulled out my debit card with a rush of female energy. Perfumes are another story. I spray them on as if I were about to run a marathon. Good for you for taking care of yourself!

The last thing that I bought was a bottle of perfume that I really wanted as I had smelt it at a perfume counter and it was really nice. It was ages before chrismas and no birthday coming up and so I scrimped my pennies together and treated myself to a small bottle of it. I am just about to run out of it I think so I best start scrimping again!
