Have you ever burned yourself from the sun, a curling iron or during a BBQ? It smarts! The best advise I can give is keep an Aloe Vera plant in your home for such a moment. The sap helps reduce the burn sensations and shorten skin recovery time. Of course for more serious burns, seek medical help immedically.
Aloe can be used for improving digestion and bruises. How have you used this plant for health care?

I used Aloe Vera just last week when I burned my index finger. I used cold water and ice first and they helped stop the burning and made it feel okay. But I had to go out to eat and was not going to be able to hold ice or to carry a bag of cold water with me so I cut the end off of one of the cactus' leaves or fronds and applied it to my finger. It did stop some of the pain and the burn healed very quickly. I would vouch for it to anyone.
I though have not used it internally... I must admit that I have been a little timid about that as I have heard from some people that it can be a little harsh at times in certain people.

Aloe is definately a very useful plant to have about. Houseleek also works exactly the same way and if you are in a wet climate it may do better for you than aloe. I grow aloe indoors and houseleek in the wall outside, so I always have a choice.

I have had sunburn. I went to the beach about 20 years ago, and I came back home with burnt skin. My skin was peeling. It was red and hot. I did not wear sunscreen. I thought that I didn't need it. Well when I got home, I realized that I needed it badly.
