Well, it depends on what scam a person gets themselves into, as to whether a person can really get the authorities involved in it or not. For me, I know that you need a lot of information for them if you want to try and prosecute anyone on it as well. Best thing to do is be cautious. Especially when it comes to FREE money to be made, or paying out anyone $$ here on the internet. Lately from what I have heard, or at least in our area, the worst of them all, is becoming Craigslist as well.
Just keep yourself safe, and in the know, and you will be better off from there.

I have only been scammed online. Sometimes sites close down without warning, sometimes they delete your account for inactivity. Twice I was mislead by myLot users. I don't see either around anymore.... big promises they couldn't keep.

Yes! A lot ! all money making sites have been tried by me!! nothing pays. You cannot report such cases as in their T&C they have this line "Account may be suspended without any warning or intimation if any fraudulent activities are found. Further details may not be given".

Hello idaantipolo,
No, I have not been scammed before. Whenever I use the internet, I am very cautious. People get scammed when they get lazy and give out important information about themselves to untrustworthy sources.
I always make sure that a website is legitimate before I give them info about me. People can be deceiving, though, so I would advise people to always watch out for potential scammers.

Yes I had been into a scam program many times. And on those occasions, I learned to be careful and study the program first. I did not report to authorities since the money to be used is more than the investment I had with the program. It's a learning experience.
