Hi mylotters!
I work in an import and export corporation after graduation form a normal university, my major is English education, most of my classmate become English teacher of senior middle school. I think the life of a teacher is so steady, I want another way of life, so I leave my hometown to come to this big city to find a job. I learned a lot of things these two years, form the basic knowledge to the complicated terms. I like my job and my way of life, although I feel tired sometimes.
What about you? Do you like your job?

Hi Lucy! I have a similar experience with you. After my graduate I gave up the steady teaching job and went to another city with my bf.At first it is very difficult to find a job for no experience. And I am trully a stranger to this city.I complained and quarralled with my bf and even wanna come back. But my bf is a kind and patient man.He let me regard him as the "punching bag".Finally I found a job of teaching English. But in my heart I do not like teacher. While at that time it is important for me to be steady and accumulate some experience. So I worked there for nearly a year.
Then I have very strong emotion to change a job to my favor. At this time I have one-year experience so it is correspondingly easy to find a job.I chose my favorite job, although sometimes it is dull and tired,I still feel happy to work.
So I think if you work in terms of your interest, that is easy to achieve success. And have happyness to work.

In my opinion,i have the same opinion with you,i think the life of teacher is so steady though the welfare is good. When i enter into the university,my major is science education which will be a teacher after graduating, but i don't want the life has no ardour,so i change my major and learn the business.I want to have brilliant life before i marry.now after one year i will also enter into society to face to find my job,to surpport myself.I want to work in an import and export corporation as you.Now i study for it.but i am not a english major student,so my english is just so so,it is not very good, and my major is not the international business.so It is hard for me to find the job which i want.I am anxious.
I want to go to big city to broden my mind,as Shanghai,Ningbo......but it is much too hard.
Can you tell me how to prepare for my future job?How to find a good job in big city?Thank you!

Hi moondan!
I think you can find such a job if you want.
First of all, I think your written English is good enough to communicate with foreigners, how about your spoken English? You can use skype to chat with native speakers to improve it. Just read some business or international trade English books, I think it is easy for you. So English is not a problem.
Second, you still have one year in the university, I think you can find a part-time job in Wenzhou, there are many factories here, you can choose one to help them to do export, you will familar with the process and learn some basic terms, then you have experience when you graduate.
Third, you want to find a job in Shanghai or Ningbo. The most important thing is you have experience now, it is not hard to find a job here if you have experience, no boss want to employ newer who don't know everything, they just want to employ someone who can make more money for them.
I hope my advice can help you!

Thank you for your advices,i think it is useful to me.I will use the last year to experience.I have the same thoughts with you,i will use the last summer vocation to find a opportunity to export and import company to practise,i think money is not the problem,i only need chance to practice.and have the experience.I think in China it is hard to chat with people in English,my friends and classmates seldom to speek english daily, they think it is strange. How do you improve your spoken english? Can you tell me some ways?

Hi moondan!
You are right, so many people, even their major is English are too shy to express in English when they are in school, I met the same situation in the university. We need language environment to improve our oral English.
When I was in university, there was English corner, and native speaker would be there to chat with us. I also think chat in Skype and do some language exchange are good ways.
Nowdays English is my tool to do business, I talk with my clients when they come to China, and I watched DVDs everyday, read English books and magzines and improve my written English here.

Hi littlewhite!
I agree with you, we should learn new things form our work, if we find our work has nothing new things to learn, you will feel tedious and work like a robot. After you changed some jobs, you will find which one you like best.
I hope you can find a proper job.

Hi gerong!
In my opinion, if you really don't like your job, and the job can't make you happy, then you should find another one. You can find a job you are interested in. BTW what is your major?

I have to say yes, because Ive stayed here for quite sometime. When I was younger, I have some offers which i did not take seriously. At any rate although I am not being paid big I learned to love it. I started from a small position to a higher one and at different department. I have been to library, to operation, to finace and now Admin. I might be retiring here in my job. Sometimes I got bored, but this is my life and I will work as long as I can, but if things will not be into my likings, then I might retire and have a small business of my own, or probably teach in a college or univeristy.

You can be a good teacher after retirement, because you have a lot of experience.

i too feel that a teachers life is really monotonous ,you go to school along with the kids and comeback along with them And instead of homeworks which are give to the kids you have the work of the kids to check everyday.everything here is pre planned, nothing in life is there to excite you and there is is no point in working if you don't like your job for if you don't like your job you don't put in your hundred percent and you don't succeed if you don't give you 100 percent

Hi lovenluck!
I agree with you! That's why I didn't choose to be a teacher, although I will live a steady life and have a good farewell. It depends on one's personality, some of my classmates think they will keep young when they stay with students and they enjoy this job.
Thanks for your response.

Yes,i love and like my job a lot.At present i am working as a network engineer in a software firm and i enjoy this job a lot.I never think of quitting this job, because once we quit the job,it is very difficult get a new job in the current recession time.If i get any free time in between my job,i like to spend it on mylot and other money making sites. Now a days it is not so easy to get a job according to our taste or choice. So before quitting the job we have to think twice.
