How simple is this, classes from a local grocery chain to teach kids health eating habits. They get to see the food in the store. I do like this. Do you think this will help? Do you have large numbers of overweight kids in your schools? www.fox5vegas.com LAS VEGAS -- Elementary students are learning healthy eating habits through tips they can understand thanks to Albertsons Grocery Stores. The food chain will begin its Healthy Eaters field trip program Wednesday with a third-grade class from Judith Steele Elementary. Nutritionists will lead the students on an interactive tour that teaches them healthy eating habits in a manner that they can comprehend.

If the schools had stay cooking home made meals like they use too dont think the kids would be ovr weight but then to the parents take them to McDonalds and thats the worse place for them to go to gain the weight

I think this grocery chain is doing good PR for themselves. And the kids may ask their parents to shop at that store too. I'm glad to hear your kids are not overweight - mine are doing okay too.

Parent should also be given such a class... they are the ones who buy and prepare the food of their children... so they should know the best food so that obesity or overweight can be avoided... there are not that many overweight kids in my country... i know a few... but they eventually lose the weight when they grow up...

I think it will take more than this to help, but it is a good start. One of the problems is that the food that is healthy cost more than the unhealthy food and so therefore many kids are eating these types of foods. The one's with preservatives and additional things that aren't healthy.
