this video is one of the religious beliefs in india. it is believed to be luck for a baby if he/she is touched by the snake on the head.
while i watch this video, i kinda disagree with this belief even though i think the snake has got no poisons in it. but the thing that could've killed the child was when the snake wraps its tail around the neck of the kid and i think that's dangerous enough to follow this kind of belief. just my thoughts, hope i won't upset anyone about this discussion

First of all, this is not a religious belief. It is a cultural custom belonging to these specific people. Secondly, you can voice your opinions on it, but this act is performed within their cultural norms, not ours, so saying that its child abuse in general (as opposed to saying its child abuse only in WEstern society) is an ethnocentric statement.?

A belief if personal thats what makes it a belief. So no while I personally do not beleive it is lucky for a child, I dont actually see the harm it is not like they leave the baby alone with a snake there is someone with them so they are safe, and as most people get a lot of stregnth from their beliefs I think if they want to believe in this and gain some happiness from it then that is fantastic for them, just not really a belief I have personally
