I think if the world cup's start helding every 2 years it will reduce the intrest towards it.Iknow that 4 years is a long term gap and we have to wait for a long period for the world cups to take place but waiting 4 years for the world cup makes it more intresting and fun.If it stars taking place every 2 years it won't be that much fun.

I am also a big fan..but four years is the correct amount of years to have the event. The process of preparing facilities..and eliminating and identifying the best teams has to be done within a framework of time so that the best players are not overused prior to the WCFinals.

Like you i am also a good fan of foot ball and it nice to see world cup every two years. But i think one of the main problem is financial.Conducting a world cup every two year requires lot of money for fifa.

I think finances are a large part of why they are played every four years. There is a lot of build up and the qualifying matches. That brings in a lot of money. I also think the Euro tournament, which is also every four years, but offset by two years to the World Cup, would keep the WC from playing every two. Euro brings in a lot of money. What I'd like to see is more regional tournaments, like Euro, around the world. North America, South America and Asia should have their own versions. Africa had the Nations Cup this year and really took the world stage. Something like this would really boost the popularity of the sport everywhere. Besides, why should the Europeans have all the fun!

VERY BAD IDEA. First off all like the previous post mention's about the Euro's being every 4 years and off set by 2 years's to the world cup. Not only the euro's but you have the African cup of nation's. This would mean that if you ran the world cup/euro's and african cup of nation's every 2 year's there would be a major tournament on every summer and the player's would never be able to have a rest. Dont forget aswell that not all league's start and finish at the same time too so there would be conflict's of game's. The 2 main reason's why it is a bad idea are.... 1 - Being every 4 year's make it's special and more meaning full to win. Having it every year would be unfair to the smaller nation's as say Brazil have world class player's in one age group that particular nation could dominate for along time. 2 - This is the most important thing. Never mind about the cost's of organising the event's as the football bodies would get that back with merchandisng and gate receipt's. Ticket's to world cup games, especially between 2 big footballing nation's probally sell for £80.00 ($160.00) per ticket per game. Just think if your nation went all the way to the final, that would be around 7 or 8 game's played, total £800.00 ($1,600.00). That's only the tournament itself and not taking in to account the qualifying. Who can afford to to pay that amount out every year along with supporting your own team through there domestic season and european games like the champion's and uefa cup.
