I can't believe this is happening. According to news here in the Philippines, we are currently experiencing rice shortage but still the government is denying it. Come to think about it, why would all the people line up for low-cost rice all morning if there occurs no shortage? Moreover, is this current happening relevant to one of the biggest problems in the world, Global Warming? What do you think? Are the businessmen trying to hoard all the rice just to have extra income or it is true that rice shortage DOES exist?

I'm in the states and I just read that they are limiting how much rice can be bought at the big discount places like, Sam's and Costco. Something must be going on, but I do not know what.

Hi atra! Actually, news here in the Philippines also said that some places in California are also increasing the price of rice and some people, especially the OFWs, are panic buying to stock up supply. But, as you have said, I do think there's no point in panic buying when they are limiting the sales for each buyer. Anyway, thanks for the response. :D
