In this day and age, ppl are wanting to preserve themselves to stay young and live longer. The nips, tucks, facial peels, lifts and dyes all go toward maintaining youth and holding off the aging process. But how long is long enough? If there were a way to freeze yourself and come back in the future would you do it? You wouldn’t be dead, just frozen, you pick how many years you want to stay frozen and your no different then a popsicle in the freezer. 100 years? 500 years? 1000 years? 8 years (till the next election)? Would you tempt it? I don’t think I would. I wouldn’t know anything about the world and although it would be neat to see how things have changed I’d feel too much like a caveman awakening in the 21st century. All of my family would probably be gone by then and even my future ancestors wouldn’t know who I was. I think I’ll just live out my time and then move on. What about you? Would you do it? For how long? What would be your purpose in doing it? Is there anyone you’d want to take with you? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Dont think so. It is an interesting idea but if we are frozen for too many years how will we catch up to life in the future?

i agree with you... and from my point of view, it would be better if we just go on with the cycle of life because if we are not to, then we are plainly objecting God's laws..o.o

Now I know that I prefer the cooler weather, but that doesn't mean I'm going to move to Antarctica! Nor am I going to sit in cold storage for 100's of years. Imagine what would happen if there was a mass power failure!

I am of two minds on this one, I would most definitely like to see how the world and its people have or have not changed, actually I do not believe that we have changed all that much in over 2000 years, I remember when I was in school and we read a newspaper article(letter) from a man that was complaining about the rowdy youth the slipshod government and that the world was going down hill very fast, sounds all to familiar, well it was written in Aristotle"s time, I think our technology is what has changed and advanced and we have simply learned to keep up with it in order to attain an easier life lol. So for that reason alone I would love to see the future, I have to agree with some of the others and may not be able to be comfortable in the future, I still can not program my cordless phone, or hook up my DVD player/recorder. so I would be real overwhelmed in 500 years Great thought though

after having 55 years old, maybe i could do it, i always wanted to see what humanity will be in 500 years or even 1000 years from now.

I would not do it because I may thaw out to find there had been a nuclear war or an asteroid had hit the earth and everyone had perished. In a thousand years the world could be a very different place. It may no longer be habitable. If civilization does continue and I thaw out at the right time, I would still know nothing about the culture. I would be completely ignorant of anything that had happened in the past 100 years or more. No I would not like it.

As tempting and fascinating as it would be to get to see the future, I couldn't see myself doing that. It's like you said, you wouldn't know anyone or anything about what was going on in the world. It would be fascinating to get to see the changes the world makes, but I don't know that it would be worth it.

No, I would not want to stay frozen and then come back. My main reason being that I believe in reincarnation and I want to be born as a small bird with a small life span and I want this life to end as fast as possible. Its not that I am an escapist or depressed or anything, its just that I have a huge tree opposite my bedroom window and I see these sparrows swinging on the branches in merry oblivion. I envy them, I want to be like them, so I have told God to send me as a tiny bird in the next life.

No I would not like that at all. I am perfectly content with life as I know it right now and when my time comes I shall perhaps regret my life not CONTINUING on for a few more years but I certainly would not like to suddenly come to in a strange new world.

No way twoey68. The world is getting crazier and crazier, so why would I want to stick around to see it worse than it is now? It just doesn't sound right. It's not the way that it's supposed to work. I'm sure that God didn't plan this, as he did plan abortions either - but that's a whole different subject. I'd rather freeze in h-e-l-l where I belong - LOL!!! Had to put that in there!!!

I'd much rather live in the present, not way into the future for who knows what earth will be like then. With the so-called global warming and other crap happening, just might want to live my life out now and not have to worry later on.

I don't think I would freeze myself. What if they forgot to defrost you? Or worse still if there was a power outage or shortage and they didn't defrost you in the correct manner and you ended up being a vegetable or something? My mind just boggles at the all the possibilities that could go wrong! Sure I would love to see my future generations and the impact I left on the world but it is just not natural to make yourself last forever so I am happy to let nature take it's course and when my time is up it is up

Probably not, to come out with such an unknown is to scary. You wouldn't know anyone, and would you have money or any assets to support youself? To many unknowns for me.

I don't think that I would either, oh when I was younger I thought about it but no I do not want to wake up in a brand new world isolated from every one and everything that I have ever known.

I don't think I would. This reminds me of the movie Forever Young with Mel Gibson. Where they froze him and put him in a box when he woke up everything had changed and everything was so different. I couldn't image having a life like that myself.

i would love to do it.if my health is either good or can be improved by that time, that is.i'd be interested to see how everything's changed while i'd been asleep. of course,it would suck if the machine woke me up and humanity had destroyed itself in the meantime.

I don't think that I would like for my body to be frozen. In my opinion, we all have our time and is time to give others a chance to exist.
