Charities...Do you or do you not give?

Which one(s) do you give to? If you would like to give, but are unable to,which one(s) would you give to. Maybe you would rather not give at all...what are your reasons not to? I would want to give to a charity that helps children, like St.Judes. I'm ashamed to say that I don't and my conscious is really bothering me now. I'm going to look into this just as soon as I get home...

I do not have that much disposable income to donate to every cause but I gave a couple of bucks here and there when I was looking for a dog to adopt at the Humane Society. Can't say I'm very conscious about that, either, but when they ask me at the restaurants, for example, whether I would like to donate a dollar,I never refuse. Donating to the Salvation Army is good, too but I one thing I hate about holiday season is that there are too many people that ask for donations, and if you give a dollar at every store you go,you'll be broke by the end of the day! I want to donate at my own pace without people waiting in ambush for me at the Walmart door:) Does donating clothes count? I do that every once in a while

Most definently so. There are so many people who can't afford to buy clothes for themselves or their children. A lot of children don't even have decent clothes to go to school in...

People are puzzled and numbed by so many illusive cadgte or charities. I used to support a girl whose family is very poor for two years. The girl is very smart and she is a hard-working student too. Two years later, she discontinued her studying just because her family wanted her to earn money to support the family. I was angryed about this when I knew this. I went to the homeland of the girl to look at her.But I was unable to go into her home and her mother drived me by a broom! I was told at last that the girl was sent to a big city to work in a factory. I am despondented.

Sometimes it is very hard to figure some people out. If you feel in your heart that you did a good thing, then it was the right thing to do.

We give monthly to a Christian radio station that is listen supported. We also give monthly to Christian Children's Fund. Our "child" lives in India. We give a little to other charities, but not on a regular/monthly basis. I don't think you should feel ashamed that you don't give regularly. If you want to give, find one you like.
