I have many Important Files.. My Projects and My Computer Language codes and compilers... I just need to save this files to my own files... Because if you just leave your files to you computer hard disk .. A virus can delete your files... And sometimes you must reformat your computer because of these viruses,spywares,malwares.. So i just save it on my own flash disk... It's not very expensive... I'm using a diskette but it's very sensitive and very easy to have some viruses... yes w/ its capacity of 512 mb... there are also flash disk with higher capacity to save some big softwares and programs....

I backup the important files from my computer to DVDs/CDs so when i do have to reformat my computer then i just reinstall everything back into it again. Im also use my 512Mb USB drive which it doesnt hold much so im thinking of getting an external hard drive because it would be better to use that instead of DVD since u can do it faster and it is cheaper in the long run.

I spread out my files in the four partitions which I have created a four -160 GB is that the hard disk which I have installed on my computer. It is a very good technique to keep your files safe because if one of the drive fails then you will have the second one with the odd required files. And most important as I never keep the target of my documents to c Drive it is very dangerous. It is best to keep your files away from the Windows partition so that if you have any crash and then you can recover it any time you want. I have experienced the use of this technique quite a few times and I think it is the best way to do.

I have an external hard disk. I put all my data in my external hard disk. My computer only has softwares and no data. Sometimes I saved my data on my computer temporarily to speed up the process but after finish I moved it to my external hard disk.

I have all my important files stored on the hard drive of my laptop. I have it there so I can easily access them when I need them. One rule of thumb is to have a backup copy of these files. I have a backup stored on an external drive and I occasionally burn a copy to a DVD disc. You may also employ passwords for your files if possible.

I use a 2GB SD card and reader for portable backup and a 250GB external hard-drive for fixed back up (the hard-drive is USB so it can easily be removed). I run anti-spyware and anti-virus every day and have not had anything 'fatal' so far.... Flash drives and SD cards are very cheap now and go up to 8GB. I recently backed up by backup onto DVD's and used more than 10 DVD's....

I got four locations I save my important files. First is in my hard disc. I make two copies of it here just to make sure. Second in my flash disc. A third copy is saved in my email and a fourth copy is in 4shared.com, my online drive disc...

The best way i say to host it to some uploading sites. Then it is safe . I suggest you to upload it to some 3-4 hours.

I save important files in my computer of course. But in case if something happen which I hope not, I also save all my important files in DVD disc. DVD disc had a very big space, around 4,5 GB. Although you can only burn them once, they are cheap. (at least here) Sometimes for very important files, I burn two DVD discs just in case.

I archive virtually everything that is on my computer, so the loss of the drive itself would not be a major issue. I have 2 USB drives for permanent storage and a USB falsh drive for storing files short term.

Hi, guys I since the USB drive is used to carry data from one place to another place. So what i use external hard disk to have back up of all the data. ANd yes for back of back i use internet. there are many sites which offer u free sapce upto 5 GB. only registration is needed. Using mail for having back up is good idea but since most of the sites offer only 10mb attachments to be sent along so u cant hace back of all big files. Also now-a-days u wont be able to send .exe(executable files).Keep posting.

I just save those files in one of the drives of hard disk and also keep a copy in cd. If the file is very important I upload it to my email or sometimes to online storage place if the size is very large. I sometimes keep 2 copies in 2 cds.

How well do I know. Sometimes you dont get the chance to save them if you dont do it in advance. Some of my files I do, and some I dont. Pictures I have on a disc, but a game I downloaded I may not.

Hi leo! I see you are a Filipino too! hehe. Its fun to know that other Filipinos are game with this kind of past time. About your query, since I save a lot of files and I'm much of a techie myself, I don't usually use my USB for backing up my files. Instead, I use an online USB. Yup, you heard it right. Its adrive, the online USB. There you can save files up to 50GB space! Pretty convenient huh? Moreover, its for free! So why don't you try it? the URL for the site is www.adrive.com . Enjoy!

If the files are truly important then I store them in an secure and encrypted volume - see Truecrypt for details. Otherwise, and more typically, I simply keep a current backup of all important files on my file server, external network, or USB hard drive and occasionally burn a copy to DVD. Here is what I tell my clients, a computer is like any other machine. It's not if it will break down, it's when. As long as your data is safely backed up, every piece of hardware can go to pot (worst case scenario) and you can resume operations with a minimum of downtime.
