We all know that the Harry Potter series was ended with its final book , the Deathly Hallows. For all Harry Potter addicts there, now that it seems the Boy-Who-lived will not be returning for a while, would you prefer reading fanfictions made by other people just to quench your thirst for more?

I have been reading Harry Potter fan-fiction for over a year now actually. There are some great authors out there on the net. One of my favorites though stopped and removed her page but thankfully she warned everyone first so we could save the stories if we wanted. Believe me I made sure I had them all.
It's not hard to find fan-fiction but it can be hard to find good fan-fiction. I've seen a lot out there that in my opinion aren't very good. There are others though that I will read over and over again. If they are very good that is I will .

Yeah I also do. I read fanfictions from portkey.org because I don;t support ships like Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione. What annoys me is when some authors alter the attitude of the characters which doesn't collide with my preferences. I hope that when they post a story, he/she would re-read it or let someone screen the story to let them know what to revise for the success of the story.

I've read some "alternate reality" ones that are quite good. I don't mind those and many of them were written prior to book six. I agree though some really change the attitude or the whole character and those I don't like.

Yes, I wouldn't mind reading some good fan fiction. I don't get what all the bad blood is with authors and their fans writing fiction. It's not as if they try to pass it off as the real thing. I think it just insprires more loyalty and buzz around the original work. Most authors would be glad to have more exposure for their work (though I guess JK doesn't really have to worry about that). Still, what's the harm?
