Should the police be better armed than the general public?

Yes,I agree with you.We live in a democratis society.What is democracy?As what I have learned,is should be based on one condition, that is individual equality of every citizen.But citizens see the issure of the country as what relates to their daily life and take responsibilities unconsciously.The government could control its people,but it could not control people' thoughts.Everyone human being is free and not be predominated by anyone.

So is it right for all the criminals that use armour piercing ammo to do so when the police is out trying to protect you yet getting killed cause they aren't allowed to use it? I feel they should be able to protect themselves as well as us against whatever should arise.

While they are on duty, they are not just another citizen. They are charged with protecting the public. The weapons they carry are a function of that role. Police officers are obligated to put themselves into harms way in a way that private citizens are not.

oh my thats a terrifying thought all people armed and walking the street in these days of angry people who get ticked off too easily. you must be kidding. our police have the job of protecting us andwhat would you have them use fly swatters? be real. Unless you have actually walked in the shoes of a police officer I would not make such comments. the people they come up against are not little angels. hence they need arms not fly swatters.
