If i won that amount of money....
i'll pay off all my credit cards and pay off my car.
i'll buy a house but only pay a downpayment on it coz i dont think it'll be enough to buy a house hehehe...
i'll pay a lawyer to get my kids out here in the states.
i'll buy a ticket tp the philippines and spend a month vacation....of course thats if my company allows me to.
im only gonna spend $50,000 and save up half of it.
i wont quit my job coz its just a hundred grand. i will quit my job if its a million...but then thats a diffrent discussion hehehehe.
so what will you do with it and details please.

I was still typing, and must have hit something on puter cause it posted before I could finish.
Some of the most immediate debts would be to get bills caught up that is for those that may be behind. I think I would want to get car running well. I would then find out more on various business' and what would be needed for small business loan since if you have a chunk of money in the bank you can get a loan but if you don't have money in the bank you can't.
I am not sure what I would do for a business I would first want to know what would be the best in current circumstances and what would also have best for future potential.
Some ideas might be some kind of established chain, ie, store like wawa, or something like that, though it is not what I would prefer, I would prefer to have a book store, but I know from having worked in and managed book store in the past that when money gets tight that money spent on this is considered a luxury and tend to go down in business.
I know of a great idea for the area for a store that can do well and who should manage it to make it potentially long term profitable, but as it is dealing with auto parts, lol would have to rethink that with the current gas prices.
SO I think that banking most of it, would be best, til I researched the best way to invest it so it can make money for me, and then with a certain amount set aside for a nice worry free vacation,
In the current economy 100,000 is not really that much money.
Once the money started making money I would then get some work done on the house. Remodeling etc.

yeah i totally agree...getting into a business that you havent done a research first might just end up closing it... thats really wise thinking it first how to spend that kind of money and putting it in the bank is probably the safest and gaining interest while you research the best business for u.

I will never win that much because I don't gamble or do the lottery, but I suppose I can think what I would do with that amount of money.
Sadly it is true that it will not go a long way with the price of things today. It would help me a lot in paying all my future bills and it would give me some financial security. I would invest half in a high savings account and use the rest to try and make more money. I think I would start my own business with it.

I would pay off my mortgage. If any is left over, will open a IRA for hubby and I. Then we can live comfortably. The mortgage is what is killing us right now. That and the price of everything going up but our paychecks.

Yes it earns interest and when you reach retirement age, you can draw on the interest only or the whole amount w/o being taxed.

Yes, I have a master's degree and am doing post-graduate coursework, and my husband is in Anesthesia school. If I can't find a decent job soon, despite working on this certification, we'll have to take out more loans! ACK!

I'd pay off student loans and utilities bills. I'd make necessary repairs (tires and windshield) to my car.
I'd get laser eye surgery IF i was a viable patient to get it.
I'd see about putting a down payment on a house if i could find one that suited my likes/dislikes.
I'd buy some stocks and bonds and well I'd save the rest.

I would pay my mortage and my credit cards. I hope that I have something remaining to go abroad and travel to places which I did not have the chance to visit. I would try to think of those who are in need and help local charities. © ronaldinu 2008

100,000$ i have never seen this much money in my life but if i had this much i would invest this money and would like to have fun , enjoy the money or run the house with the interest i would get on this money. I would go to vacations or buy few things .. right now we have bank interest of about 10% on fixed deposits in govt banks which are 100% safe so that would be `10,000 a year which would be extra income and can be used for fun while still keeping 100,000 in bank .

A hundred thousand dollars is a big amount of money in our country... I'll give the half to my mother, siblings and in laws..
The other half to me and my family. We are going to buy our own house, our own car and business.
Then I'll save the rest in a bank.

If I won that amount, I would have the house fixed up or moved to a more warmer location. I cannot stand the winters here. I would invest some. It would not be enough to buy a house. Here a decent one costs at least $250,000. I would also get a better printer, a new computer. a laptop, more clothes, and travel. Actually we would, since my husband will be coming too.

$250,000 wow thats expensive..... well, ive checked on the what house we can all buy in a 100,000 and will still be able to pay bills and buy a used car. we can buy a mobile home hehehe. i think it'll be practical and its just around 30 to 45 thousand.

If i won that amount of money id put some away to buy a decent car. Pay off my first year of college atleast. Give money to my parents that i owe them and pay that off. Use a little bit to spend on things i want and presents for my family. And then save the rest and let the interest build up in a bank account and keep working to many even more money

I would first pay all past bills, pay rent ahead for two months, get medical and dental care that I have not been able to afford or to obtain as I do not have insurance, purchase a new refrigerator, get the car fixed better, pay people back who helped me earlier when I was struggling, get some books published, record a few songs, give to charities, invest in some retirement plan, purchase insurance.

i WOULD PAY OFF ALL MY DEBTS, BUY A NEW CAR, AND MAYBE EVEN INVEST SOME OF MY MONEY INTO SOME STOCKS OR SOMETHING.......OH YEAH AND BUY A SMALL HOUSE TO START OUT. I AGREE ABOUT THE JOB THING, ITS WOULDNT BE WORTH IT TO QUIT WHEN $100,000 WONT LAST THAT LONG. HECK I THINK I WOULD STILL WORK OF I WON A COUPLE MILLION.

that seems to be a smart way of spending the money. well if i did won a couple of million or lets just say just a million dollars, i would definitely quit my job and just go back to the philippines and have that money sit on the bank. a million dollars is already 40 million pesos, so even if i had 30 million pesos sitting in the bank i could already be the paris hilton in the philippines hehehehe party and shopping anywhere.
a little advise though.....dont use caps lock on this site coz they'll delete you posts, it'll affect your earnings.
