I like all kinds of animals but I would like to know what kinda of pets other people have and what they are like I mean I have a dog and I know they can be protective and loyal a cat can be snooty and cute. But what about any exotic animals like a snake or an iguana. How are they are they good pets to get. I mean I want to get a knew pet as I said I have a cat and a dog. Also I own a large number of fish in my tank. I love to go over to people houses who have pets that are loyal and some one almost convinceded me of getting a bird any ideas or on that or anything that I should be watchful of??

Whatever pet you end up choosing, make sure you do your homework before getting it. I have cats because they are independent and are not lonely when you go out. I would not get a dog because they are a lot more work and would be lonely when we are at work. A cat doesn't really care. My son has a dog, five cats, four ferrets, 6 snakes and a bearded dragon. He loves all of his animals, but he readily admits they are a lot of work and take up a lot of his time. I had a cockatiel years ago an she was quite a character. As long as you give them lots of love, they will give it back.

Well I do love birds, they are beautiful...but my issue with birds are they btie quite often, and when they bite it HURTS (small or big birds). lol. I don't remember ever having a bird that didn't bite. Even the lovebird we have right now-no one ever wants to hold her because she has a terrible pinch!
I also love snakes, and one reason that I don't own one is because I could never feed it. I would never be able to feed a snake mice or anything like that. Too sad for me. But if you can feed them, then I defeniatly think snakes would be a cool choice...I've never been bitten by a snake, they really aren't aggressive animals if you treat them right.
Now, I've never owned one of these but...I've heard that Tarantulas make great pets! And I wouldn't mind getting one, I think I would be able to feed it crickets.
There is also one more pet I would recommend, it might seem unusual to some...but...

Rabits, while not necessarily exotic, can be fun. They are smarter than they look. They can be taught tricks and are cute and can be cuddly. They can also be playful with other animals like a cat or dog...assuming your cat or dog don't chase them in the yard.
But, they can be a handful as far as keeping their cage clean. So, if you are looking for a little lower maintenance, a rabbit is not it.
I love birds but, they can be a bit high maintenance as well. You have to keep their wings clipped if you intend to keep them grounded. And, they require a lot of attention and, can be noisy. That being said, a good, nice bird can be great fun.

We have a dog, which are great pets. We have a cat, that I could do without, but we have 3 ferrets that are crazy. They are like kittens that never grow up. Thay are loving and so playful. There are many games that you can play with them. They don't bark which is a plus. I never thought I would like a ferret until my son got one. He moved out later and couldn't take him with him so we kept it. We got so close, It would come up and curl up beside my feet and sleep. You have to get them a large enough cage, keep it clean and give them time to run around too for the exercise and to play.

animals that are kept as pet must be well taken care of, both physically and mentally, as they are creatures perfectly capable of emotions. i would say some animals have a harder time expressing their feelings or emotions, but nonethless, extra effort must be taken to ensure their well being.

i like fish for a pet because i dont have to clean its litter daily. you only get to clean every week or so. plus you can even design the aquarium. its also ver calming to just look at the fish swimming around.

i like most animals except snakes. snakes give me the creeps.
cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, fish, hamsters are all cute. all animals are like babies, to be taken care of like little babies. just remember not to ignore them or neglect them. they need a lot of attention. they dependent on you for everything.

Depends how much time you have and are willing to invest. I could suggest, for example, a coatimundi if you have a lot of time and patience, or maybe a prevost squirrel for medium time and attention (they need temps above 60 F and are quite beautiful and like to be around people), or if you want a reptile maybe a giant Argentine B&W tegu (they get about 4' long, and can be a bit dangerous but are quite friendly and can bond with people, though they may eat other small pets like cats). it really depends on the time, money, difficulty, and space you have to devote to it.
Another good choice would be a wallaby. They need some room to hop around, and they should not be kept with cats as they can get a bad disease from cat feces, but they will grow quite attached to their owners and are really cool pets. They require alot of attention when they are younger and are kind of expensive.
For tegus try www.agamainternational.com and www.tegutalk.com for care
Coatimundi care can be found on alot of sites and they can be bought from many breeders.
Prevost squirrel and wallabies can be bought from www.hompages.apci.net/~jackaroo/pricing.htm

It is ture what they say: dogs have owners and cats have staff.
I have 2 dogs now but I have also had cats and a parrot- I dont reccomend- too messy I have had an
8 1/2 foot python great animal but do not reccomend if you have a cat, trust me on this.
and I have had countless iguanas, it is better to get one that is over a year old, the little ones tend to die if not taken care of propperly but they are great pets I had a 6 footer and we used to take him out for walks everyday we made a little harness for him and everything but you have to watch out for thier toes and the tail they break them quick and easy, and they dont come back if they lose them.
