How to use your IRS Rebate check

A good friend sent this to me and it gave me a good laugh but at the same time it is so true. I knew that eventually some one would come with an idea that is dear to my heart! As you may have heard, the Administration said each of us would get a rebate check to stimulate the economy. If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs, if we purchase a computer it will go to India, if we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico,Honduras, and Guatemala; if we purchase a good car it will go to Japan; if we purchase useless junk it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy. We need to keep that money here in America. The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at yard sales, since those are the only businesses still in the U.S. So are going to spend your rebate check at wal-mart, on gasoline, a computer, or fruit or keep it here by hitting the garage sales? I could get a lot of good stuff at a garage sale.

What is even more ironic is that (from what I understand) that the money for this stimulus is being paid for with loans from China and/or Saudi Arabia!

Oh great a bill from China and Saudi Arabia is all we need. I wonder what they were promised for it.

LOL! I love that! And, as far as stimulating the economy...bunk that! Sorry but, I consider the IRS rebate check a gift that I didn't ask for. Now, I already plan, per my hubby's request, to use that money to pay down my car. So, it will be going to Bank of America. Where it goes from there, I don't know. I don't know if it ends up in Japan as my car is a Honda Pilot and I am pretty sure that is a Japanese brand. LOL! But, as I said, it is my gift to spend as I please. If someone gives me money for my birthday or a holiday, they don't tell me how to spend it, right? Why should the government tell me how to spend this gift? LOL! But, if I didn't already have plans for it, I might be next to you at one of my local garage sales! Thanks for the laugh! I think I might have to pass this on to the hubby!

Well! Guess I'll go yard sale shopping.. well, actually, we're likely going to use the money, along with our tax refund, to fix the roof! So the money will be going to a local business!

No I haven't! But our daughter upstairs has! Wouldn't you know the leak is right above the foot of her bed? And with a hard rain it'll leak! (At least it doesn't leak on her forehead!)

A new roof wow. Have you gotten wet from any leaks. Good to see that a couple of local businesses will be stimulated.

Hehehe, I never thought about that, well you are right we are such a global market! I'm saving my money for a car, which I hope to buy it from an American company, but we all know many parts come from other countries. Pablo

Some of the car parts are made here in the USA but they are owned by some company overseas.

That is so funny but true.. I am hitting the garage sales after I find out where it will go when I buy some groceries.. The dog is getting tired of sharing her food, getting old sucks, lol.. Juct kidding about the dog food.. But I do seriously hope it does help someone in the US, that would be a novel idea now, wouldn't it?? I would rather go to a good yard sale than to eat, so my portion is going to garage sales..

I know what you mean about the dog sharing her food. the kids are getting tired of the dry stuff and have stared complaining too. The dog has started to growl every time I get a cup full out of her bag. So I better get some people food for us too. HaHa The big problem is there isn't that much made in the USA that we can afford these days.

That's funny...but it sure has such a ring of truth to it! I'm sure you remember when we were growing up we always looked for 'made in America.' Now they're outsourcing everything, companies operations move to the country that offers the lowest wages to make the product. We used to be a working nation, making all of our own goods and products, and now we have to buy goods from other countries just to get something. "Made In America" is going the way of corporate greed for bigger profits. I'm with you, better to keep it in the country and just go to a yard sale, at least we know it's going to our own people in our own country! (And it will probably do our economy more good lol)

I believe that some of this is our own doing. We want to have so much that we really don't need but will buy it if it is cheap. If you have two dresses and one cost $50.00 and the other cost $25.00 which will you buy? They very much alike So I think most of us would take the $25.00 dress and not even look to see where it is made. I know I do because it's what I can afford. Thats one reason WE have so many imports.

We do need to keep it here in America and not send it someplace else. Garage saleing will do that

I was actually thinking of spending some on the movie for me and two out of three of my siblings. Then I was going to put some in the bank. Buy my other younger sister some clothes and buy myself a bookbag and my brother one too. Then I don't I'll probably have like $50 or more left over. So I'll probably some food for the house so my mom won't have to spend so much or something. That is if I get which I hopefully will If I keep praying then I'll probably get it. Hopefully.
