Grapes are toxic to dogs.

And my dog, apparently, found one somewhere. Thankfully she threw it up...and thankfully on my hardwood floor rather than my brand new carpet! lol. The grape was broken in half but the halves were still intact so she should be fine. I knew onions and chocalate were toxic to dogs but I did not know about grapes.

I'm glad you got it from her, but I don't think a single grape would have hurt her any. Its the same with chocolate and onion; dogs have to ingest quite a bit before there is any damage. Also, the larger the animal, the more they would need to ingest before it would be likely to be harmful to them.

yes hun i did no that they are also very toxic to cats aswell, also rasins are as they are just dried grapes, there are a lot of foods that our animals cannot eat and thanks for the link i am pleased your dog didnt come to any harm by swallowing the grape and i wish you both well.

Thanks for the Info, I had no idea, will keep that in mind. Do you know exactly what is in the grapes that is harmful to the dogs?

Tks for the info. My new puppy got a hold of a grape a couple of days ago and I had no idea. Surely, he is going to be okay if it has been awhile, but I will be more careful. Tks.
