So apparently there weren't many spolers coming out of it. It was mentioned that fans felt he wasn't allowed to talk about what was coming up...He did however tell one fan that he loved Elizabeth/Becky the most out of all the pairings he has had on GH. Not surprising though, they have such an easy going great chemistry with one another. He also mentioned about his contract being up in just over a year. The crowd gathered that he would not be RE signing. I hope that is not true. He also said that Maurice (Sonny) would be there until he was 84, lol! He is very funny sometimes. He felt that at some point, maybe soon, Jason would take over the mob, though. He would not answer questions about Liason, but said there would definately be NO redux for Carly or Sam and no romance between him and Claudia. Although he won't be able to spend Jake's first birthday with him he and Elizabeth are upset about not being together and Spinelli apparently takes a video of little Jake for Jason to watch... He had some surprise guests with him (Natty. Emily) who apparently will be finished playing Em very soon, but may be back as a different character. Bradford A was also there (Spinelli) as well as Derk C (Max).
Much as I love GH, there will be little point in my staying an avid viewer of Steve does not resign, but reading between the lines, sounds like the mob will be front and center for the next while and Jason and Elizabeth will be each other's loves for the remainder of his contract.
Would you keep watching without Steve/Jason on General Hospital???

Oh, yeah, probably. I've had fav characters that have left before and I still watch! I just wonder - why is he leaving? I mean, seldom does an actor that has played the same role for so long, ever get cast elsewhere - they are typecast, as they say -so what is he going to do? I mean, he may get signed with another soap - but he isn't Steve Burton, he is Jason MOrgan and a mob enforcer - hard "forget" that no matter what soap he is on! He needs to stay. Don't let us down Steve, please stay! GH just won't be the same. He is one of the few that leave and literally leave an hole in the show. Remember when Luke and Laura left? I didn't care much for them, but boy the show went down hill after that! And other times to. It is just to hard for a show to loose such a strong, dependent character and still keep the viewers watching.

I hear ya coffebreak. However I sincerely doubt that Steve would sign with another soap. I could be wrong, but he had it too good at GH. From the PA's I have been to and the ones I have read about, Steve's major complaints are the long hours he puts in, the 3 hour drive to and from work and the fact that he would like to be able to spend more time with his 2 young children, Jack and Mackenna. One of his children (not sure which one) apparently was very ill awhile back there, and that was the reason for his 'onsecreen absense' for a little while there. They filmed some of his scenes ahead of time and his child is fine now, but who wants to be stuck at work when your child is in a hospital 3 hours away? Man, I would miss him big time if he were to leave and I have more or less lived for Liason for the last 8 years or so, but I think I might still watch GH if he were to leave, after all I have done so for 40 years, but it really helps to know that Steve says himself Liason is here and even though they will focus mainly on the mob story lines for the next while, it is still Elizabeth that is in his heart...

Maybe he can afford to retire early! Why don't he get a house closer to his job? I'd just hate for him to make that decision then face unemployment at such an early age. THat is what happens often to "sterotypes" actors. Guess we'll have to just wait and see! Maybe they could do him like Luke - and have him jus a few months of the year!

I think a show that relies on one character for its livelihood is a weak show. I love Jason, and Steve, but I think the show would go on without him. Just as in real life (though so little about soaps is real), people come and go. Maybe he will leave for a while and be back in a few years. Maybe he will be gone completely. But the show must go on.
I have watched the show since long before Jason Morgan was there, and will continue to watch, with or without him. I still miss some characters who have been gone for years, and I'm bummed that Emily and Georgie are gone, but there are others still there who are good, too.

I've been watching since 1969 - so yeah - they come and go - even our favorites! I like Jeff Webber and Steve Hardy! I also like Heather - the little wicked witch! ANd Lucy Coe - total hilarity! And Alan, wonderful Alan- cried when they killed him off, especially for budgets sake! But loved his "haunting" of Tracey - they should keep that going!

While I love Steve I have no doubt that GH would find another "chemistry major". I am trying to think about what they did before he was on. Oh yeah lets see the Casadines tried to freeze Port Charles and we had Scorpio and Luke. And I remember when Tracy tried to kill old man Q and Monica and Rick. Maybe there will be another yet different important story with some new characters. We've kind of gotten off track with the concept of General Hospital. Where did all the doctors go? LOL!
