when you go out shopping do you prefer paper over plastic or vice versa??
I know a long time ago it use to be a big deal about getting paper instead of plastic. but now a days you can recycle the plastic bags. So for me I usually just get plastic bags. Thats what you see more of anyways when you go into a store.

It all depends. I tend to find that cardboard / thick paper bags look a lot more expensive than cheap looking plastic bags, so I would choose them if I had the chance. It is not really out of principle and trying to save the planet or anything.

In our country , China, supermarkt or store forbidden to support plastic bag to customers in free sinc next month. It seems so difficult to carry out the laws, but I think the people will be understand .
It's not a big things carry a bag when you go shopping .

The only problem with that would be bigger sized items (items bigger than handbag size) since some of the time I shop on the spare of the moment from college or something rather than from home, so I wouldn't have a bag. I would rather they offered paper bags than no bags at all.

Right now, I mostly bring cloth bags with me to the store. I used to use plastic and just re-use them whenever possible. But, I don't even do that anymore. I remember when they only gave out paper bags with your groceries and there were no plastic bags. The paper bags always broke, too. I was glad when those plastic bags came out. Now, it seems like everyone is trying to either go back to paper bags, or use the cloth bags like I am.

I prefer plastic as paper bags tear and besides
I recycle my bags into garbage sacks and a lot of
other uses so they do double duy in allways and if
I get too many Ican take them to the recylingbin.A
lot of grocery stores now have plastic sack recyling bins.

For heavy stuffs like groceries, I prefer plastic bags than paper bags. Paper bags tear easily when used with canned goods.

i always saw on tv that in other countries they are using paper bag instead of plastic. maybe they are aware of saving the planet earth. in our country almost all people you will see them bringing plastic bags when are from shopping. paper bag is not common and much higher price than plastic so store owner's tend to use plastic than paper.

There aren't many stores that currently use paper bags here in the UK altho a big chainstore called primark have started using them, i dont particularly care which bags i have as long as they are strong enough to hold to items i have in them. Im not really bothered as i recycle both the paper and plastic ones.

I have to say I'm a bad one and get the plastic bags. And not to recycle. I have 7 cats and I have to scoop the used litter everyday out of the 3 litter boxes. I use the plastic bags to put it in and put in the garbage can.
I do have one store I go to, Save-a-Lot, that doesn't have paper or plastic unless you buy them. They put their empty boxes at the front of the store and you box your own purchases. It's much cheaper, too. I do recycle the boxes.

In Indonesia, we did not had any paperbags in supermarket or other stores. probably when you bought donut, they give you paper bag. The only option was using plastic bag. Cause plastic bag also can be recycle nows, kits okay with me.
