I had to break down and buy bigger clothes...

Instead of losing 40 lbs, I've gained another 5. My clothes are so uncomfortable that I had to go buy some bigger clothes. I have not wanted to do this because I feel like it's giving in, but we're going on vacation next week and I don't want to be miserable. Of course I am miserable that I look like a total cow, and my knees hurt now because of the extra weight. I am back into my daily walking which will help some, but there's no way I can lose 40 lbs before Saturday. I will try to watch what I'm eating while on vacation and get right onto the healthy food as soon as we get back. I will not get rid of my other clothes because I am bound and determined to be back into them before the end of the summer!

I have lost 20 lb since I started work. My knees are hurting me most every day. I know that I need ot lose more weight. What a flippin battle it is. The one thing that keeps me on track is remembering how the people on The Biggest Loser were able to transform themselves. They watched what they ate. They exercised. They lost weight. I do not want to torture myself by doing it to such an extreme. I plan on starting walking soon. Starting slow and walking further each week. Have a wonderful vacation! Let me know how you are doing.

Walking is great exercise. It is good for cardio too. Not too bad on the joints. Running isn't the best for the old joints. I'll stick to walking.

Thanks, I can't wait to get away... My knees bother me and my back also. Once I get the weight off it should calm down some. I'm back to eating better and doing my walking in the morning. I'm going to start increasing my walking a bit too, that'll help me out a bit. Good luck to you also!

I don't like running at all, but I do walk pretty fast - 3-4 miles an hour.

I am sure you are feeling down having gained 5 pounds instead of losing… that is for the moment, I suppose. Don’t worry I see that you are currently determined to lose that weight and get back to your old shape and use your stuffs again. Same with me as I have been meaning to use my previous smaller sized shirts… you can do it.

I hope to get closer instead of further away. So far so good. This week has been going down a little. I hope to not gain any while on vacation, but we all know how that goes!

I am buying bigger clothes than ever before. I weigh more than when I was pregnant, by twenty to thirty pounds. I will lose this summer, for sure. I am trying to prevent some health issues that are on the horizon for me, and that may be the motivation I need. Where will you vacation? At the end of this month I will be going to Minnesota. Perhaps we should be weight loss buddies, our knees would thank us, I am sure.

I hope you have better luck in Minnesota than I had in Key West - I gained another 5 lbs... We are so sticking to eating right and exercising from now on. I look horrible in the pictures from this trip - although we did have a good time. But, again, none of my clothes fit and I am NOT spending any more money on clothes!!! And I feel like crap too...

I know how hard it is not only losing weight but more so keeping it off. I have not been doing well either, so don't feel alone. You will get into the proper mindset when you are ready. Don't beat yourself up for this, life just happens and sometimes it gets into the way of eating better. I know this from experience!!

It's always hardest for me to lose or maintain my weight during April. The last couple weeks of tax season make it hard for me to walk every day and I tend to be too tired to eat healthy. But I'm getting back into now and after vacation I'm going to be a very good girl and mind my food!

i have to say that you need to stay strong. whenever i have lost weight in the past, as soon as id have a bad day, i'd right myself off and think stuff it and i'd binge out and put on even more weight but the trick is to get straight back up instead of wallowing in self pity, that is too easy to do, ive been there. i have struggled with eating problems all my life, theres so much more to life than what we look like. i have come across at great diet trick, check out my mylot page, top right. any questions ask me, i'd be happy to help :-)

I am also worried about my health - my knees really start to bother me when I gain too much weight, and I get short of breath easy. I'm also pretty frugal and HATE to buy clothes when I have perfectly good ones that I just can't fit into any longer. I'll get back into and get the weight off, I just have to stick with it.

I feel for you reidydawn. I have had trouble keeping the weight off after several extended holidays to places with yummy food so I am trying Herbalife products to see if they can help make and indent on the weight gain. I haven't tried anything like this before. The products just arrived today so as of tomorrow I am on the meal replacement milkshakes. Here's hoping. I am walking for 45 mins most mornings and going to Curves 3 or 4 times a week so a change in diet should help do the trick. Since having my Gall bladder out and turning 50 last year it has been hard to lose the kgs. Hope you can find what's best for you. Good luck.

I did very well with Herbalife. The only problems were: 1. The first few days your in the bathroom CONSTANTLY with stomach cramps and diariaha. That goes away after like the first week, but sometimes it comes back for a day. 2. It's VERY expensive. 3. When you go off of it and start to reintroduce regular foods back into your diet you bring all the weight back on. 4. There are side effects, so make sure you drink PLENTY of water all the time. These things will dehydrate you if you aren't careful. I'm not a big fan of the meal replacement diets. I've switched to the portion control type diet. It's very successful (when I stick to it!) and it's easy to maintain. If it wasn't for me just pigging out on everything under the sun for the last 2 months I think I'd be where I want to be and not where I am. I wish you the best of luck with your diet.
