Or, Are you going to retire? I hear an increasing number of people I know say they are bored out of their minds when they think about retirement and don't plan on retiring at all EVER! I also know some people who say they want to quit work around 60 and then work part time for some non-profit organization or something. But the big question is, what are YOU going to do with those last twenty years or so of your life when you really can't work or do much of anything for very long without becoming dizzy and forgetting what year it is? I personally think that I will be bored if I don't do much. I have to keep doing something like writing or helping out somewhere or blogging on myLot all day long. Something!

Well I guess you could say i am already retired. I have been disabled for over 22 years. I am only 56 years old, and I really hate it. As you say. I would much rater be doing something myself, than sitting around the house each and every day. I do forget what day it is, and last week, i even was thinking it was 2007..I spend a lot of time on the internet.

I am disabled and 53 years old and so since I am not working it is like I will be when I have retired. I am a writer, I write books and articles and sell my stuff and this is basically what I will be doing the rest of my life.

I AM retired. Well, semi-retired, I have a part time job. I am not doing what I did before I left the job I retired from. I would LOVE to not have to work, I could craft to my heart's content.
I do spend time with my mom.
I am so glad I'm out of that hell hole I worked in, and I haven't looked back - tho I do miss some of my former co-workers.

I think that the best age for me to get retired is at the age of sixty, as is required by law to men, because men cannot get their retirement pension until they reach sixty years old of age. But to women, they can get their retirement pension at the age of fifty or fifty-five. If possible, I mean, if I were to have enough to support myself and my family, I would be very happy to get retired earlier from my work, but I would be very happy to have some part-time job to still make some money for the improvement of life quality in the rest of my life. To work is a wonderful thing, but I hate the pressure from work, so stressful. Thank you so much for the discussion, lifbrue.

I would put my work time into doing something for the local community, charity work maybe and do more for my local church but other than that I would enjoy the beautiful surroundings that I live near, the beach, the moors, the woods and read and relax. Ellie :D

If my son marries then I wouldn't be suprised if my retirement would be spent taking care or helping out with the grandkiddies. I would love that.

I will prolly still be doing my motor route in 30 yrs. unless something better comes up. Like someone gives me 10 acres with a house and barn and all fenced in so I can ride/drive my new horses.

Well I do not work, I look after four kids and run the home, so really I would not want to retire as I feel like I am a bit retired now and by the time I can get back into working life I want to make up for the years I have missed out on!! If that makes sense. So I am going to work for as long as I am able too.

It's a long way to go... I don't mind retiring early only if I have enough savings. I'll just keep working otherwise. There is so much to do things like taking cooking or music classes, learning different sports, travelling around the world etc. I don't wanna just sit in the house watching movie the whole day, it's gotta be something that I don't have the chance to do right now :)

I will never retire from my writing...The pen and pages of my heart will go on until the end...As long as I keep a thought in my head the words will spin into forever...I was born a writer and will die a writer...A poor writer but still writing is my bread and butter...

When I retire, my focus would be for my family and business. I will surely spend more time with my family and bond with them. I want to share sweet and memorable moments with them that time. Also, I will maintain and manage our business well for it to develop more and progress.

23 years more before retirement age. Long, long way to go before worrying on what to do during those times. Though, I think I will still be working when I get 60 years old, if and only if I would still be very healthy that time. Perhaps managing a small business so I could stay at home with my kids...
