I love the sound of waterfalls. We went for a walk this afternoon and I found a tiny "waterfall" that was such a wonderful sound..I wish it was up near the house where I could hear it. I suppose I could create a small pond area and put one in. I love the sound of it...I think it is relaxing.

Water is like magic for me. I love the sound and it's ability to free flow with no concern. Water has no control over its destination. I guess that's why they say
'go with the flow'. Oh, that was lame, sorry.
I live in the Finger Lakes region of New York. There are several famous waterfalls and people visit them often. I don't really like being with a bunch of people if I'm near water. I like to commune alone.
Last winter, my friend and I started walking down the path in a park to one of the waterfalls I mentioned. I think it was Butter Milk Falls.
Dusk was falling and it was cold outside. Some of the path had icy spots on it and we had to walk carefully. We slipped a few times and laughed about it.
Because it was late and cold, noone was on the path with us. I could hear the waterfall waiting for me.
Finally we turned the last corner and the waterfall presented itself to me in all its fine glory and power.
I didn't bother to stop on the observation bridge because I couldn't move. I wasn't frozen by cold, I was frozen by what I saw.
In the darkening light, the mountains around us were as black as coal. The waterfall was screaming down on my left, but I only saw the mountains staring at me.
Water slid carefully over the mountains, as if not to disturb the power that lived in the strong black colour.
It was almost dark when my friend dragged me back down the path to the car. It was full darkness by the time we climbed in for the ride home.
Those black mountains and the water sliding over them quietly as a whisper live inside of me. I take the memory out now and then.
Your discussion pulled the memory from me once more, and I thank you for that. Yes, waterfalls are nature's music.

I love the waterfalls too, it definately is relaxing and peaceful. I went to the waterfalls a couple of weeks back it was beautiful it had a little cave underneath and a bridge nearby where you can watch the flowing waterfall. I also love to swim in the water below when it is summertime.

I think it is too....but what I really like is my friend up in Wisconsin has a brook behind her house and when you sit on the deck you can hear it running over the rocks...and if you watch closely you can see the deer hiding in the woods! Nature sounds are so beautiful....and water is so peaceful!

I love the sound of a waterfall, the ocean or any type of water running (except the faucet!).
Water is very relaxing in most any form. I guess that's why those little indoor waterfall thingies (I know they have a name but it escapes me!) sell so well. The CDs with trickling water to help you sleep are neat too.
I'd love an ocean front property where you could sleep with the windows open (or on the porch!) and hear the surf. Nothing better!
