When you're walking in the street, nobody's around. And you're eyes catch a dog. Its a lost dog but it has necklace, means that its owned by someone. The dog really lost, and its crying... That dog seems attract to you and follow you til you reach your house.
What probably you do with that dog?
Will you take care of that dog? Or just let him in the street... anyway, the owner will look for that dog and it makes you difficult to separate with that dog...
For me, its ok for take care that dog, since its the one followed me to my house. im not the one that catch the dog. Haha...

I found one dog a long time ago, and managed to help reunite it with her owner. I caught another dog going down the street with a long rope trailing behind, put it in my yard, but it jumped the fence before I found its owner. I also found a greyhound wandering around in the middle of a busy street and after advertizing about her and stuff found her a new home.
Yeah, I pick up stray dogs. Does that surprise you?

I did in fact find a dog a couple of weeks ago, right outside my fence so I took it in my yard but my dog was mean to him. He was small and really cute. I got my dogs leash and put it on him and walked him around the neighborhood to see if anyone owned him. I waited for hours to see if anyone would show up for him but by 8 pm that night no one had so I took him to the animal shelter and left a note that if no one claims him, I would take him. the owner showed up at my door around 11 pm and was mad that I had taken him to the shelter, but what else was I supposed to do with my dog going after him and I was afraid to leave him outside in case he dug his way out. At least all he had to do was go get him the next day.

I am a big sofie when it comes to animals roaming the streets and many a time I have been followed home!! I think that if I found a dog and it did that to me, I would keep hold of it, but at the same time I would try to track down its owner. I would probably go into the vets and give a description of it and give my details and also put some posters up and ask around. Mind you, if it still has its collar on then there could be something on that so I had better check that first!!
My kids would want to keep it, thats a fact and then it would be hard to let it go if it was at our house for a few days, but I really do not want a dog as they are such hard work and they want walking loads and you have to clean up behind them, then there are the vets bills and going away without it and dog hairs and fleas. Second thoughts I would leave it on the streets!! I am only kidding!!

for me, i will definitely going to call the animal rescue RSPCA to come and get the dog and take care of it... otherwise i just call the police and hand the dog over to the police to take care... but i won't be taking care of the dog as i don't want to get attached to it and it is hard to let go after that... it is better to let the police or animal organisation to take care of it...

i am not really a pet lover but i have a soft spot to cuter dogs, i guess i will just take care of the dog for a while and wait until someone claims for it, if i found him on the street inside our subdivision then it will be easy for me to trace the owner, i can ask the guard at the gate to inform the homeowners that one dog is missing and was left to my care.

If this happened, I would take the dog to the nearest vet and have it scanned for a microchip. If it does have a microchip, the vet will hold it there until the owners have been contacted and are coming to pick the dog up.
If not I would take it home and feed it, and call the pound to see if anyone's called about the dog. If not I would make posters saying 'Lost Dog' but without a photo. If someone called up and said 'yes my dog is lost' I would ask them what type of dog they're missing and what coulour, gender etc. This would avoid people falsely claiming the dog or even worse, kids deciding that they'd spend the afternoon torturing a dog they picked up for free.
If that didn't work I'd either keep the dog if I could afford it and grew attached to it or else I'd have to take it to the pound and hope that its owner or an adopter would pick it up.

Honestly, I would look for a way to reunite the dog with its owner. As a dog-owner, I know how bad it feels to lose my dog. Perhaps, for the meantime, I will take good care of the dog while I am looking for a way to get in touch with the owner. Even if the dog followed me home and obviously likes me, I know that the dog is not mine. However, if after trying to look for the owner and no one comes around to get the dog, then I will keep the dog.

This happen to us last year. There was a dog running up and down our street i was watching it out the window to see if the owner was close behind. But no sign. So my partner went out and asked a person who was passing if that was his dog. He said "No" My partner brought the dog in, it was very friendly. The dog had an i.d tag so he phoned the number repeatally and eventually about four hours later he managed to speak to the owner. Then he returned the dog to her. She did offer a reward but he turned her down as he was just pleased that she had been reunited with her dog.

I would take care of the dog and try to find the owner. I would hope that someone would do the same for me if I ever lost my dog. I have such a big heart for animals that I couldn't just leave it in the street. I would have to care for the animal and try to find the animal's owner.

I would try to find the dog's owner, check to see if it had a license on it with the name and address to the owner and then take it back. If it didn't have a tag with such information then I would put up fliers with a picture stating that I found the dog and where to contact me. If all else fails I would keep the dog and take care of it. I already have 5 dogs but I would definitely not take it to the pound or leave it in the streets to get run over by a car. I am a big animal lover. :)
