Well I didn't get the job (photographer) for the wedding in Niagara Falls. I was charging $450 for the entire thing - going to Niagara Falls, and coming back to the ROC for the reception. I was giving them ALL the photos and copyrights. For $450 that's cheap!!! I was asking for 25% and for the remaining balance to be paid 72 hours from the wedding. Well aparently that was too high and they didn't understand why they had to give a deposit and pay in advance! At first I was ticked...BUT then I was like no - as a professional I have to accept rejection, and move on. So they hired a photography student! Ok...next!!! How do you handle rejection?

Sorry you didn't get the gig. You are right, $450 is quite within reason. You should never sell you or your services short. They will get what they pay for. The student won't do nearly as professional job as you would have. Being a writer I know how hard it is to accept rejection when it comes our way. My best advice to you, is to move on to the next project as quickly as possible. Tell yourself that you are worthy until you believe it (positive affirmations work wonders). Rejection hurts, but in the long run,it only makes us better at what we do. You will get the next one! Hugs

Thank you. The good thing for me is that I have my fiance supporting me every step of the way. You are right, positive affirmations work wonders! I should be doing a Quinceanera on May 24th I believe...so we'll see how that works out.

Sorry that you didn't get that job. It would have been a nice trip for a job. I absolutely love Niagara Falls! I think that your price was very reasonable and I can't believe that they didn't understand why you needed money up front. Don't most companies work that way? Keep your chin up and keep working at your goal and you will get there.
