Marriage after 11 years of being a single parent....

I am really going to do this, I have been a single parent for 11 years and a few years back I met someone that I knew I wanted in my life forever.
My kids love him, he treats them as his own and I love his kids and I feel for them as mine also. He moved in with us last May.
He got down on one knee in front of my kids to ask my hand in marriage, and ask their permission last Sept, in December I hadnt picked a date yet so he asked me for a month, so I said August, well we are getting close to August and I have to admit I'm getting a little nervous having to start thinking of wedding plans.
The preacher came by last Friday and has a pre-marrital workbook for us to go thru and join him in counseling every 2 weeks. I think that is what set the nerves going. I know I want to spend the rest of my life with this man, but it is making him nervous that I am nervous, any sugestions????

Oh that is wonderful, it is good to see happy stories within families, i really hope things work out for you, its great that that your kids are happy to see you move on with your life, its the way it should be...good luck to my friend...

Why thank you very much, I like that wedding heart, maybe I'll have to get one for our wedding, wow that just sounds so strange, but fun comming from me, hehe

I think it would be nice to have a heart like that made out of the best silk life like flowers, a large one then have it above your bed to bring your union luck, I know someone with one, a lot thicker than that with more leaves and beautiful flowers in many colours......

That sounds way cool, I'll have to check with my local flower gal, she does everything and see what I can get, thank you so much for the idea, and I like the idea of hanging it at the head of the bed, thank you :)

single for 11 years? well i think it is all natural to be nervous. its like you are having it for the first time. i am married for five years now and i know i was so nervous too during those days when we are planning our wedding. i know my wife is nervous too. so dont worry getting married is nerve racking really.... preparations, a lot of headache. then some family will still be having attitudes another headache har har har.... but there is nothing to worry what you feel right now is normal. goodluck goodhappens.

Thank you very much, and I do believe its all the preparations that are getting me nervous, if we could just go to the judge I would probably be fine, I know I want to spend my life with him and he w/ me, but the whole wedding thing, but he says since it is both of our last wedding ever he wants us to do it up right. I'm still thinkin small tho.
