There have been so many movies over the years that I have loved. One of the funniest in my opinion is "Arsenic and Old Lace". I love watching that movie. I always laugh with it. I've gotten to share it with my niece and she enjoys it as well .
Of course there are many others that I have seen that I think are very funny. "The Pacifier", "Sister Act", "Father Goose", "Cannonball Run 2" (I didn't care for the first), "Liar, Liar" and so many more I could list. I have a bunch here actually that I enjoy watching at any time but that list has the ones that came right to mind.

I can imagine doing that. My sister and I live together so we could do it as well. I also love "Father Goose" with Cary Grant. It's another great comedy.

hi dierdre!
the latest funny movie i've seen is Don't Mess with the Zohan with Adam Sandler. it was really funny! Adam Sandler is the best! he was like a true Israeli who just wanted to be a hairstylist no matter what it takes and forget all the fighting he used to do when he was still in the military. i loved his accent! and Rob Schneider was there too! he played another Israeli who has a grudge on Zohan for stealing his goat. you should watch this film. its really crazy.
Hancock has some funny moments too although it is not strictly a comedy movie. from what you've mentioned i also liked Mr. Bean's Holiday, Ms. Congeniality, Charlie's Angels. hey, White Chicks was funny too! Kung Fu Panda was funny. that's the much i can remember now.

I love comedy films and there are loads of brilliant films worth watching that will have you crying with laughter. Napoleon Dynamite was fantastic and I am hooked on the film. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Will Ferrell movies are usually pretty funny, but tend to be all very similar...The Anchorman was a great film though. The 40 year old virgin and Knocked Up where hilarious in parts. Airplane and Blazing Saddles are still up there are some of the funniest of all time. Adam Sandler is brilliant too and films like Big Daddy and Mr Deeds are very funny. It depends on the type of comedy you like but there are a some I would strongly advise. There are countless others too, but these are all I can remember off the top of my head. I'm sure I will think of loads more later.

Bruce Almighty and Mr. Bean's Holiday... I love this 2 films... Especially Jim Carey in role in Bruce Almighty, it really suits him. Very funny! About Rowan Atkinson's role in Mr. Bean's Holiday, he really never fails to make every scene funny...

well, to each his own, but honestly, i never really liked tagalog movies, i find them cheesy, even corny. the acting is slow paced, the special effects are horrendous, and for many more reasons. its because pinoy movies are aimed towards the masses, who obviously, are the only ones who will patronize their films. have you seen people that belong to the A,B and upper C class troop to the cinemas to watch such films? maybe only a few, and those few happen to be friends with the actors or the producer or director, that's why they came to watch the film. LOL but i know of a friend who is rich (she lives in ayala alabang) and likes to watch such films, so to each his own really. as for me, i prefer hollywood films, why? simple. because it is well crafted. no dull moments. no cheesy lines, no exaggerad acting, no unnecessary and overly melodramatic confrontation scenes, and no unrealistic-looking special effects and costumes. put a filipino film side by side with a hollywood film and you'll know what i mean.

Watching "Galaxyquest" I fell off the couch laughing. (But I'm a trekkie so it may not work as well for someone who isn't)
I loved the snappy dialogue in "Evolution" except for Dan Akroyd's part.
"The Full Monty" is freaking hilarious and lastly, I laughed all the way through "From Dusk til Dawn".

The first movie that comes to my mind is an old Sylvester Stylone movie, "Oscar". He plays a gangster in the prohibition era whose father's dying request is for him to give up his life of crime. The movie is all about that first day of leaving crime behind.
It's fast paced and a lot of fun. I highly recommend it.

The funniest movies I have ever watched are the ones that make me laugh so hard that I cry. Off the top of my head I can think of: Something about Mary, Zoolander, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Ace Ventura 1 and 2. These movies made me bust a gut laughing and made me run out of breath. I don't think there are any recent comedies that have had the originality of these movies.
