the past several centuries have witnessed a remarkable development of human civilization. unfortuantely, however, industrialization and human progerss have been achieved at the cost of the environment.have you ever seen a cartoon , in the picture, a huge ace is cut into a tree stump, and all around the stump are the clear-cut woods, which make the scene look extremely miserable.~~

It has been said that if all the insects in the world were to be annihilated it would not take long for the earth to die. Without insects to pollinate them, plants would not reproduce, without plants birds would have no shelter and herbivores would not have food. Without herbivores, meat eaters would die, etc., etc.

I agree that the damage to the environment is serious, more than that, some of it is already irreversible. SOmething drastic needs to be done before there is an environmental meltdown which makes life inhospitable on most parts of earth for humans and animals and plant alike.

Yes it is in a bad way, man is supposed to be the intelligent animal on this earth and yet it is man that has stuffed it all up, so the way I look at it man is the dumbest animal on this earth...we took and took and took and never even thought about giving back, we kill all the animals for our own benefit, cut down all the tree for our own benefit, and our water wastage is disgusting even to day i see so much water wastage even at a time that they are talking about us drinking our own waste and yet people still water their concrete and go to places to have a couple of spas a day...we just never learn, even from the mistakes are so dangerously right in front of us...
