Has anybody tried authentic italian gelato? It is soo creamy and flavorful. I wonder what the difference is between american and italian ice cream..

Gelato is incredible. There are a few places that sell gelato in our town (including Whole Foods)...it's very tasty but none of it quite compares to the gelato in Italy. American ice cream has more butterfat but I think there are lots of differences in the quality and just types of ingredients and even the types of freezers they use there.
