I wasn't aware there was a new singer with Queen, when did that happen? No one could ever replace the late great Freddy! What a legend! No one will ever come close!

They brought in a new singer, Paul Rogers I believe after he passed on. He really couldn't fill his spot in my opinion, but thats not exactly an easy task.

Paul Rodgers is the current lead singer of QUEEN. Another poster spelled his last name without the "d" in it, so thought I'd correct that. Prior to joining Queen, he was best known for the being the lead singer of the bands Free and Bad Company, both of which enjoyed success in the 1970's.

hi teka44,
Nobody can replace Fred Mercury period. (My the Gods of Rock & Roll protect his sole.) You could always find another singer but what Freddie Mercury accomplish or did for queen can never be surpass. Don';t you get it? he is the Queen of "Queen"
rock on

I agree with him on this. To me Queen was all about Freddie Mercury and Brian May, and to me between those two the band couldn't continue without Mercury. Not to minimize Brian's importance but I could see him being replaced with the band still being able to go on, but I couldn't see them going on strong after losing Mercury.

They could get a new wonderful singer, but he should sing in his own style. i don't think that anyone imitating Freddie would last.

I really don't think that he can be replaced, to me Queen was all about his vocals and Brian May's guitarwork. I think its slightly more possible for Queen to lose Brian May and still go on but without Mercury I just don't see it happening. I believe Queen + Paul Rogers has a new album out sometime this year for anyone interested, I probably won't have a listen though because I never really cared too much for his voice in Queen.
