What type of hairball do you own?

LOL!!! Sorry but mine Kitties are mostly big balls of fluff!!! I have a big white kitty, that we call big white but if you gave him a bath he would be more of a drowned looking mouse. LOL!!!! But my point in this discussion is what type of cat do you own? did you go to a breeder to get the cat or the pound or did you just find you puff ball or not so puff ball? LOL!! Unlike my puppy my cats are muts in the kitty world I have a long hair domestic Big white and Robin while my patchy is a short hair domestic. LOL!!! Big white looks like he could be an Angora but I have no clue since I found his father left on my door step less than two weeks old.. But that is a story for another day. So what type of cat do you own?

Well my cat is Rags, I addoped him from a shelter, when mine passed away in december. He is a long haired cat too. He is part ragdoll. He is the most precious, affectioniate cat I have ever seen. Do not know what I would ever do without him.He already had this name when I adopted him, but it sure fits him.I went to adopt another cat that was pictured on the internet, but it was way too wild for me. They had just gotten "Rag" in a few days earlier, he ran over jumped on my lap like he knew me forever, he did not leave me til I got ready to leave. My daughter said,Mom that is your cat, he is a lap-cat.And he really is that!!Ke wants kissed and hugged all the time..

Miss Daisy - Daisy, Turkish angora, crazy cat
Right now I have three cats. They were all strays who I took in. I have a 17-lb orange tabby named Karamel. He's very affectionate and loves to give kisses. The next one is Felix, a tuxedo cat. He's a crazy cat and very lovable. Then there's Miss Daisy, a white Turkish Angora. Her favorite place is to lay on top of the television. She enjoys watching television upside down.

We have abeautiful calico that began its life as a stray. We rescued her from being sent to the animal control. On another note, our guinea pig is much of hair ball himself. He's also colored like a calico cat, so they think they are brother and sister and have always got along and loved each other. It quite cute to watch Patches(the cat) sit outside Chuck's cage and play with him.

I'n my house i think my big white would want to torment the poor guinea pig. He found a mouse at my grams one day and he kept catching it by the tail and letting it go and then recatching it. It was quite amusing to him but not to the mouse . I finally caugth the mouse and put it back outside. LOL!!!

I think its all about the color, and the fact we got both around the same time and they were babies. Patches is one of the bet mousers I've known. We had a bit of a mouse issue when we got her, that's how we got Dad to ok it. And she hunts like crazy! She's pretty muc gotten rid of the problem. But she loves her little brother..lol

All 3 of my cats were adopted. My 2 olderones are brother and sister and we adopted them from a dog shelter of all places. There mom was a stray who wondered into the garage of the house the dog shelter was behind and had her babies so the family decided to adopt the babies out to loving homes. The male is a gray tabby short hair. and the female is white with black spots short hair. They are both beautifull cats with diffrent personality. Now the youngest was given to us by a friend of mine. He is all black and very fluffy, he is also the trouble maker. We love them all and they are part of the family.

Tia Maria - My cat Tia
I have a gorgeous black/brown puffball with a white bib - we call her Tia (her middle name is Maria) as she is teh very same colour as the drink of the same name! We got her from the sspca (Scottish society for prevention of cruelty to animals) - she had been found with her brother and sister in a bin liner in the river less than a mile from the shelter when they were days old and had been hand reared til we got her at 6 weeks old! When we got her we had to sign an agreement saying we would not leave her on her own at any time and that we would look after her properly etc! She is an arrogant little moggy and loves to play mind games with any one who is silly enough to take her on! lol

You hate me don't you? My eyes started watering just reading this discussion and picturing that hair ball you have living in your house (and for once I am not referring to your man) You forgot to mention your orange short haired hairball and simply loves jumping into the playpen and tormenting my avatar. I will not be held responsible when the day comes that she tries to eat that cat.

We have 2 exclusively indoor house cats, that are brothers out of the same litter, but completely opposite in every way. One is skinny, one is fat, one is mostly white, one is mostly black, one is outgoing, one is introverted. One is white with tabby patches, but mostly white. My daughter named him "Curious George", but "George" for short. She thought she was picking 1 for herself because we had already picked one out of the litter for our family. But instead of being 'her' cat he 'owns' me instead. Apparently cats 'pick' people, the people don't pick the cat. lol. Anyway, he does not like being picked up, cries about it actually, and spent the bulk of his young life being chased by the kids, so that I why he likes me.....I didn't chase him, I was too busy chasing the kids. The one I picked, pure black, except for a tiny white spot under his chin, and on his belly, we named "Teddy Bear", but "Bear" for short, because he looked like a black bear, but was soooo loving. My oldest daughter ended up owning his heart, but he genuinely loves everyone, too. He molests every new individual that arrives here. He will cry and stretch up to them and beg to be picked up, hugged and cuddled. He will wrap his arms around your neck and purr.....and drool after he has cleaned your hair. lol. It is funny, because some people that don't really like cats that sit at the kitchen table, will be taken aback when he assumes they will love him back, and he just launches himself onto their lap and crawls up to their shoulder to share his brand of love. I have had many people scream that he is attacking them, jump up and away, and the cat is now collecting himself on the floor, just waiting for another opportunity to cuddle. Quite innocently trying to share his affection for the whole world. Completely unfazed. Not much deters him.

That was my fuzzball a gray ball of fluff that would head but you for attention and wanted it or else. He would literally follow you around until you gave up and picked him up. LOL!!!! I loved him. I'm still pissed that someone let him out of the house. Grrrr.

I like how you worded that discussion I had to laugh ( LOL ). I was given my cat when he was 5 months old from a friend at work. They had already named him Butterball so I kept the name. I asked my friend why they named him Butterball she said that he was the biggest and fattest of them all so that's what they named him. He is short haired blk/wht. cat.

I actually have eleven balls of fur with fangs! So here we go with the descriptions: LittleBit: a short haired feisty calico that was dropped off on my front porch when she was only about 5 weeks old. Nemo: my big male short haired orange tabby who was dropped off on my front porch the year after LittleBit. Angel: my little female short haired orange tabby that someone had dropped off in front of the doors at the store where I worked. And of course I just had to call hubby and tell him to come and pick up his new child! Vixie: my short haired black and white female that was given to me by a friend that had to give her up when she was moving, and I just couldn't let her take her to the pound. Prance: my long haired white and tan baby that had been rescued by Pet Lifeline. She chose me when I was trying to pick out a kitty to take home for Vixie. Missy: my white and silver tabby female that some kids had thrown into a full drainage ditch to try and drown her. Another neighborhood kid pulled her out and brought her to me because he knew I would bring her back to life and take care of her. She's been a spoiled diva ever since! Fluffy: a long haired silver/grey tabby female that is a descendant of a pregnant mama cat that had been dropped off in my yard several years ago (I had a LOT of kittens from that mama too). Fluffy is the timid princess of the house. Midnight: a.k.a. Fat Black Cat. My big male short haired black kitty that is my inside outside cat. He is gargantuan and weighs a ton, even though he doesn't really look that heavy. He's a grandson of the mama cat. Muffin: my fawn colored female with black paws. She's the first daughter that the mama cat had here. She is just adorable! Fraidy Cat: My little black and white male that still loves to fight with cats 50 times his size...and he usually wins. Another grandson of the mama cat. LittleOne: my feral black and white female. She is a great-great-great granddaughter of the mama cat. She is so cute, and I want to pet her so bad, but she won't let anyone get near her even though we've had her since she was born. Now you have my kitty family history (at least part of it anyway). I guess you could say all of my furbabies are mutts just like yours. But I wouldn't give them up for the world. Oh....and all but Fraidy Cat and LittleOne are spayed/neutered. Those two are very hard to catch, and every time I get a trap I end up trapping the wrong cat. And they have now learned to stay away from it!

I have four hairballs...Murphy is a lynx point Siamese rescue from the animal control. She is such a sweetheart and is 14 years old. My Mom got Murphy for me for my birthday. I didn't know that she was a lynx point, I just knew that the little bundle of fluff I saw in the cage was so frightened and needing someone to love her with all their heart that she was the one I wanted. I started to get her out of the cage and the keeper told us to be careful that she was "mean". I picked up this 8 week old ball of fluff and she snuggled right into the crook of my neck and started to purr. Everyone knew right then and there that she was my cat. I found out that the person who had left her just tossed her into the cage and didn't even bother to latch the door on the night deposit cage. Of course Murphy got loose and the people at the animal control spent three days chasing her and trying to catch her-they were terrified that she would wander out onto the road which was very busy and very close by. I adopted her on the spot but couldn't take her home until three days later. When I went in to get her, animal control received a call from the owner looking for her cat. They informed her that the cat had a new owner and that the cat was going home right then and there. The original owner threw a fit, apparently she paid $1500 for Murphy and her boyfriend got mad at her and tossed Murphy in the dog pound. The lady that took the call told her that it was tough luck, that she obviously didn't take care of the cat and really wasn't too worried since it took her 7 days to call about Murphy--she wasn't going to get the cat back as it was going to a far better far more loving home than the one she provided. They were right as Murphy is a very spoiled cat. I had to go to town yesterday just to get Murphy some cream as she was acting rather depressed. (LOL) My second really hairy hair ball is Dinglebeary (Ding Ding). He is a Maine Koon cat. He too was an abuse victim. I hadn't planned on him, but a friend rescued him from an abusive situation where the poor cat was locked in a laundry room where the only place for him to lay was on a washing machine. His litter box was about 2 feet away from him and his food was right beside the litter box. The friend called about Ding Ding and said she was looking for a home for him as her husband was very allergic to cats. I said I would help find him a home and the next thing I knew I was taking him home. I had him two days and there was no way that he was going anywhere! I normally don't like long haired cats, but he is a true exception. He is such a ding-a-ling that I can't imagine being without him. He has now taken over the towel laundry bin in the bathroom as his personal bedroom. Khuay and Willy are twins. They are flame point Siamese and I adopted them from two little girls outside our local Wal Mart. I needed two more cats like a second head but I just couldn't leave them behind. Right now they are laying on opposite arms of the couch like book ends. Willy is more like a dog than a cat, he follows me all over the house and is working hard at learning to bark. (My two doxies are working hard at teaching him how to bark! They bark and he meows..he's trying.) Khuay is shy and retiring. He is such a sweetie and will come to you, flop over and wait for his belly to be scratched. The twins are only about 9 months old and still need to visit their vet and have a little snip surgery. I had dreams of becoming a crazy old lady with a house full of cats...well it looks like I made it! (LOL) I not only have cats in the house along with two dogs, but I have three more cats outside--they're feral cats but they are part of my brood and need their care too. Ralphie (named for a character on M*A*S*H*)is a black feral cat that is semi tame. He comes to me and we love on each other but I can't pick him up. Groucho and Harpo are siblings that come from a feral litter that I adopted to help control mice and ground squirrels (they do a good job). Groucho and Harpo are inseparable and you don't see one without the other close by. I would have more "hairballs" if I could, but I guess I have to be happy with the 7 I have.

I adore your comment about meowing until your ears bleed! We have a neighborhood cat that is a talker like that! He had moved into one of the neighbor's homes but he kind of made a mistake...he peed in their bathroom! (LOL, I had a good laugh at that comment. He actually peed on the rug in front of the carpet.) So, he is once again restricted to the out doors. Fortunately we live in a remote area where there isn't any traffic so he is safe. I wouldn't mind having him live with me, except that DingDing the Maine Koon has a fit if he comes in the house.

Wow you do have a brood there. LOL!! I love how cats all have their own little personalities. LOL!! Mine are all different two. Kitty (my big kid)is a clean freak he is my white long haired cat sort of looks like and angora . Then their is my short haired furball that looks like a patchwork quilt she is an anti social ball of fur except with my daughter Hailey she has let that daughter of mine pick her up and cart her everywhere since hailey could walk. LOL!!! Now Robin my orange ball of fur is a love me pet me hold me or I'll meow till your ears bleed, she spends most of her time with my SO.

Although I love long-haired cats, and can't remember a time in my life without a common moggie or two around not one has been long-haired. Most were 'rescued' or the product of 'indescriminate' breeding. A couple were 'feral' kittens from the local ship building yard. I used to own and breed Siamese Cats (the exact opposite, wouldn't you say) How do you cope with his coat? Does he enjoy being groomed? I've two now. Black & White male who is 17 (but still thinks he's 7)and a Tabby & White female who is 4. She's the smallest adult cat I've ever seen and over 50 years I've seen a lot LOL! Both are short-haired, though my male has a very thick coat. The real fur ball is my GSD, although 4 and a short hair, she has a puppyish quality to her coat. her undercoat is very thick and fluffy! None of them likes the time it takes me to groom them and all three are shedding! HELP! I'm in serious danger of drowning in a sea of fur! The heaviest coated cat I had was half Scottish Wild Cat who hated being groomed and at the sight of a brush would vanish! My daughters long-haired Tabby loves the attention and is always happy to lie quietly, which is lucky for her, as he tends to over groom! Making fur-balls a problem. She spends a lot of time daily whereas normally it's a once a week 'job' for me. Bath him and while not quite mouse sized, he'd make the average Siamese or Burmese look over-weight! Not that you'd get him near a bath!! I'd love to hear the other story! It must have been quite hard work bringing up a 2 week old without Mum's help!

Pookie and his sibling were very small and yeah it was hard work his sibling didn't make it the doctor honestly didn't think pookie would make it so I was lucky to have him. He was the best guard cat ever. LOL!!! When I was taking care of him he was in a box next to the bed so that I could wake up and feed him and I always came home for lunch to feed him. As he got older he was use to never leaving my side almost I went on vacation and I would take him with me. I went to my mom's in maryland I would take him with me. No matter what Pookie was at my side made him very possessive of me .. He hated my exhusband. LOL! he would purposely do things to tick my exhusband off.

I, just toady, got a long hair calico. Though she is not long haired at the moment because her previous owner had to cut the mats out of her hair. It gets bad in the winter, I guess (yes, we are just out of winter here). She is just beautiful and I can't wait for the her to adjust to her new home so we can really get to know her. She is a total lovey and has shed some of her fur all over already...lol

My pup has been brought up with cats and sometimes I think he thinks he's one of them I have caught him climbing up on the table to lay there like the cats the same with the coffee table I'll have to take a pic one of these days. Boy did he get yelled at for being on the dining room table. LOL!!!
