please stop posting unrelevant response for a discussion

don't have any thought why does a member submit unrelevant response for a discussion what i notice here, this matter mostly made by new member in mylot. i just feel sad with them cause why should force themselves to drop response while they don't understand or perhaps don't interest to the discussion. if you just get after posting points which might be increasing your earning, i am afraid that its wrong perception since mylot never count the number of your posting but its more on quality of your posting. however, to read this kind unrelevant response is little bit bother me (i am sorry to say like this) since i always looking for any answer/advise within the discussion that i made so for anothers, how do you feel if you meet this kind thing in your discussion? and what you gonna do then?

Angry - Anger
Yea,it certainly makes one get angry and frustrated at seeing an irrelevant reply. As a matter of coincidence, this happened just a few hours ago to me. I started a discussion about a doubt I had about blogger, and at last I got a reply. Wanna see it? http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1504409.aspx Just think ,how I would have felt when I saw it after a long patient wait? It was with great restrain I stopped myself from rating it negative.I just hate rating anyone negative for any reason. Cheers! Have a great day Happy mylotting and happy earnings

I agree with you it is the quality of your response that is key not the quantity. Every time a new mylotter asks for the best ways to earn on mylot I always tell them that they need to leave responses full of details to get the maximum ammount. For example yesterday I think I only responded to about 10-15 discussions and every single one had long full of detail responses and I earned .45cents. I know it is not alot of money but for the few discussions that I responded to I think that is great. Just immagin if I had been responding to discussions all day. Some people dont really care about other peoples problems all they care about is the money they could earn and they dont even read the full discussion topic to fully understand where the person is coming from and be able to give an opnion based on what the topic is about. It is sad but there really is nothing you can do.

I know how you feel. It is very irritating! Most of the times I just ignore them and move on. But there are some times that I just get so irritated that I will actually comment back to them asking them if they even bothered to read the discussion. I know most likely they won't ever see my comment because if they had the nerve to respond with a meaningless responses. Then the chances of them going back and reading my comment are slim. But it does make me feel better just being able to voice my opinion to them.

Normally I don't rate them at all. I think the only times I have rated them negatively is when I have gotten irritated by them and responded to them. As for reporting them, no I don't. I hardly ever report people. The only ones I report are ones that are major rule breakers. Like those that harrass others or result to name calling. But that is the only time I report someone.

Having been involved with public education for over 40 years, I am well used to this sort of thing. It doesn't really bother me, except that as you do, it makes me wonder about what is going on with those people. Actually I get very few inappropriate replies, mercifully.

well, i also get it not in many but i become curious why they do this kind thing? is it for better earning in here? or just for reach more points in posting which will make them don't seem as like new member?

Yes this does seem to happen a lot, and while it can be a tad annoying I tend to just overlook it, I do not know why people do it if they do not know what to say then they should just leave it. But I just ignore it, I do not even waste what little time I have putting a response to it.

I know what you mean and you are not alone. I am barely two months old here and I notice that a lot of new-comer are doing their best to participate in the discussion. Sometimes, they respond to the comment of other people instead of the main discussion. When I was real new here I was like that too. I had to admit I am still testing the water. So I kinda understand them. And I would welcome them too because when I was new, there were a lot of people who are nice to me and welcoming me too so I was just returning the favor. I just wanted them to feel good. So for the new ones it was a bit ok for me. But what was most disappointing is that, there are old-timers here who are doing the same thing too. In that case, I think it's not really right. Most of their responses are one liner like.. if the discussion asked a question answerable by yes or no... their response will just be "Yes, I agree with you." Just like that. No explanation whatsoever. But then, I still have to reply to it out of courtesy because I believe that he/she took a bit of effort.

whooow, so just do the same thing as like posting unreleveant response when you were first time in mylot? however, i am happy that finally you can figure out how to make some earning in mylot and i am glad you change your way to response then. thats also i notice too in here that in some members they still do the same thing and they also copy paste another discussion to be their discussion

Not really, it's just that when I was new, I really don't have any idea what to do here. My referrer was of no help. I was really disappointed with her more because she sponsored me here and didn't even help me. When I sponsored my friend, I helped her to take off here. She was making more money than me here in fact. When I was new, I just just trying to learn everything at first. I don't think that my responses were really irrelevant. I guess they were just not that good and lacking of confidence at first. But these new ones, sometimes, maybe they don't really understand what the discussion is all about because sometimes, they barely understand english and just learning the language too.

Well, plumwish07. You can rate the posts negative then. Don’t feel pity towards those who just tried to spam your discussions with irrelevant responses, especially those who just tried again and again. After all, if you are the discussions' owner, you have the right to rate those who respond to your discussions. If myLot asks you about it, just tell them why you have rated them negative. After all, myLot would judge their responses as well, and would realize how irrelevant their responses were.

yes it is very annoying but i understand the newbie who did this because when i was also newbie here i made comment o discussions that i don't know, concern only on my earnings but later on i learned and also reading the guidelines so now i am more on quality rather than quantity. so far all of my discussions got a very good answer.

discussion - avoid irrelevant discussion
I just don't mind it if that will happen to me as i need to use a lot of muscle in my face when irritates me. Maybe the best thing that mylot can do is put their discussion guidelines rules before signing and focus on irrelevant discussion or maybe there not doing it because they can deduct every violation from our earning. The good thing after some irritate us from their irrelevant response, we can still find some way and go enjoy typing in mylot with our interest topic.

I find that if someone posts and does not really respond to the question I asked or the comment I made, I will indeed respond back to them and ask them for more information, elaboration, comments about what I was speaking about earlier. I think that this lets them know what is needed better than sharp words will. I do not rate anyone badly. I am adverse to this because I once had someone rate me badly and did not like it.

I guess you're right but i have yet to encounter that kind of dilemma..yet.. I still find that I'm not particularly interested in so i don;t write anything there anyways, all i can say is keep the discussion alive and flowing :)

If somebody expresses his or her view and hence responses, irrespective of whatsoever irrelevant that very view is,his response should be respected, everybody's opinion should be accepted and hence, respected, you cannot be harsh with that person.A person should wait for any other good view patiently after that.

I'm new here - but no matter WHERE I participate in discussions, if I don't have something relevant to say, I don't say anything. What I say may be short (because sometimes I just don't have much to say), but it relates to the subject being discussed. Since I've been here on mylot, I've seen some energetic, lengthy discussions - and a few that left me saying "huh?" LOL

You can report them, comment under them and tell them how things work here. I too gets irritated by them, newbie or not. If they don't have anything to say within the topic, then move on and skip then search for those irrelevant topics where their irrelevant response suits best. They are only destroying the flow of the discussion, not helping but ruining it. Sometimes, I do comment under them. Then I'd report them, thankfully mylot does listen and the next day I log in, they are gone..

Yes, I have noticed this thing that some of the members post their replies, without bothering about the actual contents and the meaning of a discussion. They just post replies for the sake of posting a reply and adding to their count. I also feel very bad, when I read irrelevant and meaningless replies to my disucssions. But what to do, we do not have any option to 'delete' those irrelevant response, we need to just igonore those responses, which do not fit into our discussions. A member should see to it and 'preview' his reply before finally submitting it and check if his/her reply is relevant to a discussion. On my part, I try to be relevant with my answer to a discussion, even if I have to write few lines only.

I have had this only happen a couple of times and have actually responded by saying thank you for sharing but what does this have to do with above discusion usually with no response back so now I just ignore. It is frustrating though I agree. Ellie :D

When I find an irelevant response to my discussion I ask the responder if he bothered to read all my discussion and if so read it again as you evidently did not quite understand the first time.sometimes I just let the whole thing go. I know it is irriatating specially if you bent over backwards to make it understandable to anyone at all.

Sometimes it is really irritating or I usually ignore their responses thinking that they may have not really understood my discussion. You know, giving the benefit of the doubt. Fortunately, I don't really get much response like that. Thanks.

Well, that's what i also noticed from other post. But luckily i never encountered it yet..Sad to say that mostly of the new comers of this community only intend to earn money. If i response to a discussions i should have my interest with it. I chose a topic that i like to response with. They should read the guidelines of mylot so that they will able to know what to do on this site. They are just wasting there time if they don't know what to do.
