personal problems at mylot

I don't think anyone gets their personal problems solved by anyone but themselves. However I do think that useful advise can be obtained by talking with others who have had similar experiences. Asking about something personal at mylot might put you in contact with someone who has been in your position or has a different point of view than what you have previously considered.

the mere fact that they have written it down and psychologically, they know somone is reading it, that is already a big help. a response from the members are secondary, at least it would support what they are thinking of or heed the advise. isn't it if we have a problem, all we need is a lending ear, we really do not wnt them to talk. putting it in writing is an alternative therapy to solve ones problem because it gives us a brighter perspective, it is like dumping garbage or cleaning up your PC file.

i have posted many time smy personal problems here. I must admit that all these times i have got very helpful responses. may be some got solved in other ways as they were dependent on other factors to be solved, but i am satisfied with mylot friends.

Well they always have the option to do so and of course we have opinions on issues and we could help each other by encouraging one another with wise words and sharing words of encouragement.

Honestly, yes. I have posted one discussion here about my situation and a lot of people responded on it... It really helps me a lot to understand the situation I got into. You will never believe that there are lots of people here that are really really good and sincere in giving advices to others. Thanks guys! Cheers!

There are times I guess that they can get help here in mylot by posting their personal problems. What's good about mylot is that there are a lot of people here with different backgrounds and have different ideas. So that helps when dealing with problems.

I don't think your problems are solved but you get to read different points of view and that may help you solve the problem.

i am a mylot member for a year or more and i already tried asking other mylotters of their views regarding some situations or issues i had. i was really surprise how people here will give their sights and views about my problem. ofcourse on my part i will still weight all of this for the final decission is always from yourself. try it. see it for yourself.

Well basically when it comes down to it only you can solve your own problems, but I think a lot of people post their problems just to get some feedback, maybe even encouragement. Maybe because of the anonymity here, people feel they can describe their problems better without someone judging them, then say discussing it with friends or family who might be more criticizing--also, so many of us may have had identical problems that many of us can understand and be sympathetic

I think no one is really looking for a solution...but good advice and there is alot of it on mylot. When you throw out your problem you get fresh ideas because people that aren't in it sometimes see things differently.

I'm not really one for sharing my personal problems with *anyone*, let alone the world on the net. However, I do try and give advice if I think that I can and someone is asking for it. I'm not sure if anyone's problems can be solved here on MyLot as the discussion is not normally in depth enough, but there are all sorts of different people with all sorts of different experiences so I expect that by putting your problem in the public domain you may get all sorts of solutions that you'd not thought of. And of course, one of them might be the right one for you. Sometimes, just hearing that what your going through is normal, or that you aren't alone is enough to make you feel much, much better. Even the act of writing a problem down can help start the 'solving' process as you get it out in the open and have to think about it logically to write it down.

Hy mhayelynna. I never post my personal problems here, maybe someday I will do that. Sometimes people have problems and don't have anyone to ask for help or can't tell about this with a close person. It happen many times in life. Sometimes is too hard to tell about something with a close person an so easy to tell about with an unknown person. It is the same with the call help. Many times it don't solve the problems but people feel that someone care about him/her and feel good and it makes, many times, they can solve their problems by theirself. In ours days all of us feel loneliness because the modern life don't have time to care about the others. It is why most of the people come to mylot lol.

I think it is possible. The people who post on Mylot are of all ages and many may have been through the situation you are currently facing. Asking them to share their advice and knowledge may help shed some light on the problems you are facing. Also many times when faced with a particular situation, you can't truly see it the way it is because you are so close to it. Hearing it explained from an outsiders point of view will allow you to see it differently and possibly help you make a different decision.

Well I think it's more on the earning side why people post their problems here. Sometimes you do get good answers because a lot of mylot users are highly intellectual people. You just have to find them and as you continually interact with each other you will find out who they are.

I would say that it does help, when one posts his/her personal problem. There are so many members, who come out with their sincere and genuine advice on the issue being discussed, I hope, that really helps the host of the discussions in solving out a problem. When we post any of our problem, everyone looks at it, with a different angle and submits his/her opinion based on his/her experience, so in a way, it really becomes useful to get the advice of different people. Whenever, I have posted any discussion, related to any of my problems, I did get some outstanding advice and responses and I did get the benefit of advice of my friends.

I have posted lots of questions of here because I have found that it is such a huge community that chances are someone will have either been in your position or knows your answer,its much better that you dont know any of these people personally.I have found the mylot community to be very supportive and helpful in most situations and have no problems posting personal questions or issues ,actually its the first place I go.

Do you know, I rather wonder if most of those are real or just made up, because it is hard for me to imagine people laying their whole souls out on the table like that. It does make interesting reading sometimes, though, although at other times I just wince and think "Egad, don't these people know that they are putting themselves at risk!"

its not all about solving it by someone giving you an advice. It's also thinking of it and puting it on paper (monitor) that gives another dimention and often that is what we need. But yes I find that I do get great advice and solutions and different opinions and experience does help me solve a problem. Plus I dont have to tell anyione I know personaly and think about what they will think of me.

i have given out lots of advice for fun, whether here, yahoo or style.com, and many people liked my advice and told me it helped them. and i have noticed by reading other people's advice on different sites, that many people give good advice, better advice than you would get from someone you know. so i have noticed that strangers on the internet seem to help one another better than people you know in real life...
