financial aid to a small country that has suffered an unfortunate disaster ?
Following the recent 12ft tidal wave in Burma the British goverment have pledged £5,000,000 in aid to help out.
Personally I am outraged at this as the saying goes "charity begins at home". I know Burma are only a small nation and that they may not have much money to help the re-building of their country but that amount of money could of been used to tackle some of our own issue's such as policing, teacher's/school's.
Five leading charities are leading effort's to get aid to those affected by this tradegy so surely it should be left to people to decide if/how much they would donate to those people.

Hi there Mark!
I will feel the same way too. I don't have anything against helping but I think that you should do that when you don't have anymore hungry mouths to feed in your own country.
I think that the wealthier countries should do that instead of a poor country helping another poor country.

If from the UK which I suppose is a wealthier country but I still dont think it is right to give away much needed money no matter how well off you are.
Situation's like this I feel should be left to the consious of people to determine for themselve's how much aid/help is given.
