Do men deliberately zone out to the TV?

Many men I know of tend to 'zone out' to my conversation as if in a trance when watching TV. Does anyone think this is a deliberate move by men to make us women subordinate of them?

Sometimes people aren't just being rude, and their partner may zone out to the tv a little too often. The moment the tv was on, my brother was useless. Alpha state is where your brain going when you're passively watching tv....maybe men are just more susceptible to entering that state...

Excellent point which makes me laugh. But on the other hand are we women just needy creatures who want men to pay us attention the whole time, or at least at our command?
