Would you rather shop online or in a retail store? With the gas prices soaring do you think you will start doing more online shopping? Explain why you like one more than the other.

That depends...sometimes I like to go shopping to stores and if I am lazy or looking for something specific...then I shop online.

It's nice to shop online when it's raining and cold out also. I don't like getting out in the rain. That's all it's been doing lately is raining here in Missouri. Have you been getting lots of rain? What's your favorite place to shop online? Thanks for your response. Have a great day.

I enjoy shopping online to begin with but like you said, with the cost of gas on the rise (and the fact that the nearest decent stores are over 30 mins away from me) I can definately see me shopping online more often

How much is gas where you live? I know all about not having decent stores. I live in a small rural town. The closest mall is an hour away. I like to shop online also. Thanks. Have a great day.

i think i prefer going to the stores because i get to see the item, touch it and maybe try it on, things like that. but no doubt, i've done online shopping before. i also love to see the catalogues online, it's so tempting to buy sometimes! most of the time whenever i buy online it's because the item that i want is not available here or if it is, it's cheaper to get it online

I like to shop online for some things and for many reasons. The first is because I get cash back when I shop with many well-known companies, like WalMart, Tartget, Best Buys, etc. Plus I save on gas... how many times have you driven to a store only to find the item you really wanted was sold out of just not on the shelves. Online, it only takes me a couple of minute to see if they have my item in stock...no waste of time & gas, no settling for an item I didn't really want, etc. I just bought sneakers online at Skechers. Skechers was offering 10% off on anything in their online shop (and their online prices were already a couple of dollars cheaper than the store I bought my last pair from. Skechers was also offering free shipping, so not only did I save on the price of the sneakers, I also got another 10% off, free shipping, the pair and style I wanted. I saved about 2 gallons of gas, saved about an hour of my time and I later received my cash back incentive through my free online program. Now I know I'll never shop online at WalMart and find children's clothes marked down to a $1, like I sometimes do when I go to a WalMart store, but this Christmas (when they don't have "clearance" items in the store) I'll save my gas and save time by shopping online... and getting cash back everytime!

I shop on Amazon for books and DVDs because I don't have to pay tax, and I'm not using up gas. I always qualify for free shipping by spending $25.00 or more. In comparison, if I bought three books at the store for $8.00 each, that's twenty four dollars. But then I have to pay for gas and taxes. I still have to go to the store for clothes. Last winter, I did buy two pairs of boots online. I could tell by looking at them my feet would fit and I was right. I also like online shopping because people write reviews for the products and it helps me make decisions.

That's awesome that you qualifty for free shipping. I will have to start getting my books from there. I love books. I love to shop online but also in stores. I like to shop in stores to get me out of the house and like to shop online so I don't have to pay for gas or get out in the rain. Thanks for your response. Have a great day.

I don't do much shopping online at all. Sure, there's some things I get online, but not many. I would never buy clothing off an internet store, I'd rather go to a regular store so I could try it on for style and fit. So many articles of clothing are marked differently...in one brand I'm a size 6, in another a 7/8, and in one brand I'm a 10! I always have to try on before buying (as I've learned the hard way and had to make a return :-) With other things too, I'd like to see what I'm getting and check it out before buying it. A picture doesn't do the same for me as actually seeing something in person. Electronic parts are a different deal though, you already know what something is and looks like, and how it works. Lots of times you can get a better deal on the internet on those types of goods.

I do enjoy the conveince of shopping online, one thing I hate is pre paying. I like to leave with the item I bought instead of having to wait for it. With the way gas prices are it would be chaeper to shop online from now on.

I would shop more online if more places took paypal..We don't have a credit or debit card card, so unless the place of business took paypal, I have to shop in a retail store.
