Here's my process to coming up with ideas for short stories. 1) First, choose a topic. Focus it down. Last year, I wrote entirely about relationships/experiences (i.e. A childhood memory, something at school, an experience at work, a relationship with the opposite gender, etc). 2) Narrow down your choice down to one specific event. 3) Find as many short stories as you can that relate to your topic and read until you get "the itch". That's the point where your mind focuses on a single moment and you begin to write on it. 4) Write and revise. Make this a habit when writing short stories and eventually you won't need to focus it down so much. I'm actually working on writing a much longer piece of work now that I've got a pretty strong grasp on short story writing.

When I did lots of writing, I always used to carry a small notebook and pen with me at all time so if i had a good idea I could jot it down or if I thought of phases or a couple of lines, ideas I could jot them down and not forget what I had thought of. I also jotted down anything intersting I heard anyone say while walking in the street or in the bus q or while on the bus. It was very surprising what I heard and what i could turn into a story. Starting just write waht comes into your head, however rough it feels as you can always edit it and fluff it out to make what you want it to be. Hope this helps you a bit.

Hi. You can begin with the first thing you think in the story. Example:If you think first in a dog walking in a street and a men coming after it and call the dog, you can begin with this. If you have talent it isn't too hard. good luck
