Good luck to you! And, you have likely mentioned it here before, but, if you don't mind my asking, what is your surgery?
I actually have two reasons for asking...curiousity and, I have a dirty joke to tell you but, I worry about this dirty joke so, the next question is, can I tell you a dirty joke? And, I won't if it might hurt you depending on what your surgery is for.
So, until then...good luck! And let us know how you are doing as soon as you can!

Shhhh! Don't tell myLot I told you this dirty joke! LOL!
And, I really hope it didn't offend you or anyone else that might read it!

Good luck with your surgery, Terry. I wish you a speedy recovery.
This happened to me yesterday. I typed this long email and didn't address it to anyone or sign it. It was going to my husband at work and I was in a hurry. I mentioned something about the casino and then asked what he was going to do about dinner last night since he generally goes from the office right to softball. I did plenty of explaining in the email as well about why I didn't want to return to the casino after a recent visit when I wasn't able to cash a check. I sent the email and then realized it went to my boss and not my husband. Ok so now I am totally embarrassed and didn't know what to do except to send her an email with the subject, "I goofed." I explained myself and thank goodness I have a real understand, down to earth female boss. She thought it was so funny. After the fact it was funny.
Thinking about you,
carolbee

I hate having to be at the hospital so early for surgeries. Because you then have to wait like three hours for the actual surgery, and just put up with the paper filing and 'prep.' I'm glad you will be getting this over with, and I hope you will feel better as soon as possible.

All will be well terry, and you will be back to us soon, all better.
I think I would prefer to be the first of the day too, everything would be done sooner and then I would just have to take the time to recuperate and be fine.
Big hug to you

Hi Terry,
Just want you to know you'll be in my thoughts and prayers. We'll all be waiting to hear how you're doing. As for something funny, well, I've had a couple of routine colonoscopies. When the nurse was prepping me for my first one, she was explaining the whole procedure to me. She got to the part about being in recovery, and said, "Afterwards, you'll be expected to join our choir." I had no idea what she meant. As it turns out, it's necessary to 'pass wind' afterwards, and they actually monitor you, and you must do this. Needless to say, I was 'in tune' with the other choir members. Not much privacy, and I 'sang' right on cue. Take care.

You're welcome. I'm glad I was too, because who can tell, I could've still been there if I wasn't.

ok I must of had one huge brain fart cause I can't for the life of me recall why you are having surgery done, Terry. Hope everything goes well and see ya in a few days when you let us know your doing well. Will be thinking of you and have sent prayers that everything is uneventful thruout your surgery.

Glad to hear all is well, Terry. I know it had to have been scary for you being it's your spine. Hope nothing else happens to it now.
I had laser surgery on my lower back 14yrs. ago for a ruptured disk. They told me my back would be like it was before surgery. NOT! Least the pain isn't like it was b4 but still hurts every now and then and I now have to be careful of what I do and how I do it or it reruptures which means 3-4 mo. bedrest.

My prayers will be with you my cybersister that all goes well, and this is actually something you've been wanting for awhile now so you won't be in anymore pain. Don't stay away from us too long and you'll have to keep us posted how you're doing..((((hugs))))
Oh I promise I'll be at my best behavior....can't vouch for my two kitties though..LOL
Oh...maybe you should bring some whipped cream with you so you can have something decent with your meals in the hospital...hehee

I had outpatient surgery last month, and I had to be there before 6 am. My response was the same as yours when I was told the time. As it got closer to the date, I all of a sudden began to feel nervous, too. It was still dark outside when I left my house. But, the whole process was so fsst, that I kind of felt like I was being kicked out of the hospital. Everything turned out good, and I'm glad that I went in that early. As the day goes on, the doctors tend to get backed up and your just lingering around the hospital.
Anyways, good luck with yours, and here's a little humor. "You know you're getting old when your back goes out more than you do!!"
I hope you chuckled a bit, and I hope your surgery isn't on your back :) Wishing you the best ... and a speedy recovery!!
