Ok I was in the shower and had a thought. For hundreds of years we all have argues which came first the chicken or the egg. The thing is you really cant have one without the other. So here is my thought. We all know that there are 4 major elements Earth, Air, Fire and Water. We all know that you really cant have one without the others. The thing I was thinking is that Earth ties all the others together. Without Earth we wouldent have plants to produce the Air and without the Air we wouldent have the Water to nourish the Earth. Also the Earth produces the plants and trees that we use for Fire. so my thought is that Earth is the "tie that binds" kinda thing. My question to you is which element do you think is the "tie that binds" element and why do you think that way?

Impressive brain twister! I could spend four hours or more thinking about this, but noone has an extra four hours. I don't know if I'm violating the 'tie that binds' rule book, but I would say the tie that binds is_ The human mind or a collective conscience that eminates from every sentient being. That's the inspiration that blasted through my mind after reading your question. Is it the wrong answere?

Oh but you picked a real brain twister! * My pick would be the sun, because if it hadn't been for the sun warming the third rock out, we'd still be one chilly third rock out from the sun with out no action going on. * Admittedly, there are lifeforms doing just fine with out the sun thanks-so-much, but the question is what would have lit the evolutionary life spark if it wasn't the warmth of the sun on some microbes...
