Why do you suppose that is? I think it is quite weird. Have you ever seen a person with two different color eyes. This has just happened lately with in the last couple of months.

Hmm that is very strange, to happen this late in life. I've seen dogs with two different color eyes but never humans unless it was contacts, and I'm sure your aunt isn't wearing contacts.

You mean to tell me that her eyes were the same color before and now one is a different color than the other? How interesting. I head that Whoopi Goldberg's eyes are two different colors, but I am not sure if that is indeed accurate.

Since it just happened, I bet she has a cataract that needs ot be treated. She should do that soon so she doesn't loose her eye sight. There are some people who are born with different color eyes, but that is something you are born with that never changes.

Why doesn't she get the cataract removed? If she did that,m she would have her vision back in that eye.

I worked for a guy who had a green eye and a blue eye. But he always had that. I know it is possible, but a genetic condition that is usually present from childhood on. That however does not appear to be the case for your aunt. I think in your aunt's case it's some sort of eye disease that causes the discoloration. She has to visit an eye doctor. For your aunt's sake, please make sure she'll see one.

I've known a few people with one brown and one blue eye. Are you sure it's just a new thing and she hasn't always had it? There are people who are born that way. There is one other possibility, if it's truly something that just showed up...there is an eye condition called heterochromia. Heterochromia can be caued from genetics, trauma to the eye, and some medicines. Here's a link to an article about it in wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_color If she has any vision problems, or if it just occurred, then maybe she should see an opthalmologist to make sure she's ok. Poor Auntie, that's perplexing!

I saw two of your discussions were deleted and I wonder why they seemed innocent enough to me. I don't know why you grandmother has two different colour eyes, has she gone to see an eye doctor?

I've never heard of that. My Grandma is 77 and her's are both still the same. I've seen a couple babies born that way but they always straighten out after a couple days. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I think it might be because the pigment in the iris of the eye is fading out. It happens over time. She might even have worse sight in that eye because of it too. I bet it looks pretty neat though. It can happen even in babies that they are born with different coloured eyes and some breeds of dogs like huskeys and kelpies are the same. It is spooky and interesting at the same time.

Hi Marcia-not many people do have these colour eyes I have never known someone with them but in my opinion I would of thought it would come down through the genes perhaps skipping a generation then appearing in someone else in the family-your friend littleowl

My son has one brown eye and one brown eye that has a blue "section" - about a third of one eye is blue. It has been that way since birth. No one has ever given us a reason why it would have happened. It doesn't affect his eyesight at all, just looks a little different.

My husband has two different eye colors. One is green and one is brown. He has had two different eye colors his whole life, but just recently, he discovered that he has graves disease. It affects one of his eyes. One night, I noticed that his right eye didn't shut completely. It seemed to get bigger and bigger. He went to the doctor and was informed that he has graves disease. It is a disorder that is connected to your thyroid. (He lost about 30 lbs.) He is on medication to regulate it and he will have to continue to be on this medication for the rest of his life. He is now back to his normal weight, but his right eye protrudes outward. We don't think it will ever go back to normal. I don't know if the fact that he had two different eye colors has anything to do with graves disease. We were told it was genetic, but he has no history of this problem in his family that we know of...

The only thing I have experienced is my nanna had a catterack in one eye and that had turned a paler colour, but it was removed it was fine! She didnt lose her sight, so it is nothing to worry about Im sure.
