I just got a threatening phone call last night!
It was a guy who claimed himself to be some big gangster. He knew my name, everything about me. He said he'd kill me if I don't wire him one hundred thousand RMB by midnight!I was really scared, man! He told me he'll cut my arms and legs off, one by one. He knows my address, too.
How am I supposed to get all that money?I hope that got to be just a terrible joke or something. You know what, this is really terrible. It is a horrible joke.I just got another call from that"gangster",it turned out he was one of my long lost friend. He really scared the hell out of me. How mean wicked he was!
Oh,hell!Thank God,That was only a joke!

Wow! That was some experience! That was really scary too. So probably the friend was really long lost that you forgot his voice already but what he did was really pretty mean. He must be having a kick out of it. He should have found another way to play a prank on you thats not so threatening. Life is hard and dangerous enough already. Im surprised that you still listened to the call. If that was me the moment I knew that I dont know the person I jsut hang up. You're more friendly that way or maybe he said something to you in the first few seconds that caught your attention and just had to keep listening. I dont answer phone calls that I dont know who the caller is. If its in the landline and I dont know who it is I ask who he/she is looking for if they dont answer or I dont know the person I jsut hang up. Im not tolerant of those phone calls and it annoys me especially when Im busy doing something.
Well, you should get together with your long lost friend and give him a huge playful punch on the side to let him experience some of the scare that you had. Have fun!^_^

That is something else. If I had someone do that kind of thing to me, I would be a nervous wreck also. I think if I had a friend to do that to me, I would probably go off on them and tell them it is not funny at all, especially these days with all of the corruption going on in the world.

That wasn't very nice of him!! I know people do this a lot and think it's funny but it's not so funny to the person getting the call. Couldn't he have told you that you won a prize or something?

That is a really bad joke, I would have been really cross if he was my friend! I have never had anyone play a bad joke like that on me, and I hope someone would not be that cruel. But at least it was a joke, in todays world it could quite possibly happen.

If this is how he treats his friends - don't make him an enemy!

Your friend needs to get another sense of humor put in and get rid of the old one. That is not a funny joke. What if you had called the police. Than, you would have been fined for calling in a false alarm. Your friend should rethink such pranks because it could eventually cost someone something. It could even have cost your friend something if you had called the cops and they traced the prank back to your friend.

i don't think i'd EVER get over that "joke".
there is too much real stuff like that going on in the world.
i'm glad that it turned out ok for you, though - hope he didn't shorten your life by 10 years.

That's terrible. I would have been very upset with my friend. Your friend is very lucky that you didn't call the police immediately. I would have.

To be honest, if I got a phone call like that (and I sort of have, i'll explain) I would have hung up and called the police right away. I wouldn't care if he called back and saaid it was a joke. That's such a serious thing to do to someone.
When I was 16 I had a guy in his early 20's call my house, he called me every week for about 3 months. Threatening me, he knew where I lived, my full name, my birthday, my school. He just didn't know my work. He used to tell me if I didn't kill myself, he'd come to my house and literally drive me crazy until I did it. He managed to get my cell phone number, he called that while I was working and tried to get one of the girls to tell him where I worked. It was so scary. After the second phone call I called the cops and they were showing up everywhere I was every day to check in on me.
Prank calls like that should be taking really seriously. Had that not been a friend you could have potentially been really hurt.
